Does this get better? |
|
Okay, well, this forum looks somewhat dead... but hopefully someone can help me out here.
I have always been a huge fan of the SH series. I have loved every single game, and got a pleasant surprise when I discovered that this game eventually came out on PS2. However, I haven't really been able to get into this game so far. I've made it to the sanitarium. I feel like I should be really drawn into this game and playing for hours at a time like I did with the previous games. But I go weeks, if not months, between playing sessions. So, tell me, does this game get better? I guess the thing that frustrates me the most is that it's too easy to die, and the enemies are too hard. I want to play for the story; I don't want to be repeating the same sections again and again and getting nowhere. The story and the music seem as excellent as always, so far... but I find myself not wanting to play a game where I have to restart so often. ------------------- ![]() Yay, I have a banner! *Possible spoilers*
It depends on how you look at it. I also have this game, and am also stuck in the Sanitarium, however, I've watched speed runs for this particular chapter in the Silent Hill series, as well as most of the others. A lot of people say that this one is nowhere near as good as it's predecessors, and it does go awhile without really progressing. And I may get attacked on this one, but it seems like the game is more about Travis's past rather than finding out the mysteries of Silent Hill, but when you get to the boss fight in the Sanitarium may help you want to play it a little more. ------------------- "Until your rapture falls to pieces, find in me the will to breathe and simple things...like suffering." - Hurt "Rapture".

It's actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. Sure, it is hard the first time. But after a while, you get the hang of it.. Don't worry about the difficulty

I just made it thru the Hospital and I'm heading towards the Sanitarium. As of now the monsters don't seem real tough. The Monsters roaming the Streets are interesting, they will chase you down, making it tougher to search and find Weapons, Health Drinks, etc. At least it seems like there are an abundance of weapons.
I don't like the 2D controls. I've gotten used to 3D movement playing the other SH games and it's not an option in this game. It's doesn't seem like they have First Aid Kits in this game. I haven't used one yet, but what exactly does an Energy Drink do? If it just raises your stamina I don't really see the point of them. I take that back, if you end up getting attacked by more then one of those monsters at once, they are tough. Unfortunately they are all over the Sanitarium Grounds. I know there must be items around the grounds, but I may end up running out of Health Drinks trying to find them. This message was edited by KM on Nov 23 2009.
