why cant the legend of spyro series end, the classic games are one of the best ps1 game series, but the new games are all so crap. They got rid of the adventure and platforming and replaced it whith a linear game whith boring levels, shitty voice acting/duiolouge and a combat system thats only average at best.
Krome and sierra ruines the spyro series and unless this game or the next futre title goes back to the style of the classic games, im just going to give up on the series.

I can't agree with you.

The original Spyro games were fun 1 to 3 were brilliant, but the second A Hero's Tail came out the series died, the TLOS series reinvented and revived the Spyro series.

You call the new combat system 'average' and your right it is, but it's still far more diverse than charge flame charge flame for everything. And at least Spyro can finally have some decent looking melee attacks instead of the same triangular flame burst every two seconds.

You complain about the voice acting, the voice acting in the original Spyro games was good, but Spyro never said more than a few words each game, his voice actor changed every time a new game was made and only in Spyro 2 did he actually get any sort of personality or have a decent voice.
In TLOS the voice acting is brilliant and Spyro finally has a good voice actor and a clear personality. I can't see how you can call the voice acting bad when we finally get real actors to act instead of the original amateurs. >_>

You are right the game is linear, I want to go back to the original formula as well but I'd like to still have a better combat system than what featured in the original Spyro saga.


More than likely since 'Dawn of the dragon' features free flight at anytime the series will return to being exploration based. I hope.

Spyro 2 will still be my favourite Spyro game.

I doubt Dawn of the Dragon would have too much exploration, i mean then there would have to be stuff to collect, like gems. But in the new series gems were only used to buy upgrades, so you didn't have to get every single one. Although i do like both the new and the old.

i personally never played the classic platformer. i only watched my dad play the first, and i watched my cousin play the second and third, but the legend of spyro series gives spyro a better chance for SSB4 because of the combat system. i think it would be nice if the classic platformer games had the teenage spyro model, had free flight available but very limited, different elements, and cynder playable. that would be enough to make me happy.

Uhh pal I hate to tell you this but no one is ever going to make a ps1 game again. That thing is ancient.

I hate people like this. "oh but the early games were the best, screw the new ones". They're not going to keep to the standards of PS1 games throughout the future of Spyro, idiot. They have to change, or it will be the same until Spyro ends. No one is stopping you from playing the PS1 games still, it's not like they're being taken away from you.
