Well, like the title says, there are weapons best suited for monsters. So I was wondering what the best weapon is/are to use for every monster, aside from longsword? I realise now I should not have wasted my freedom 2 days away with the noob weapon, longsword, and would like to know what other weapons I can use to take out monsters.

I am HR7, and the last star in cheif, if that helps.

Longswords arent really noob weapons. They are just preferred because they are easier to use.

And theres no weapon designated for each monster, its whatever you like to use.

If you want specifics then Hammers can be used for ALMOST any monster, Gunlances are great for akantor. Etc.

Exactly. They are a noob weapon. I would call myself a noob, though I am hr7, due to me using longswords.

Khezu

Green congalala

Brown blangonga

Shogun Ceanataur/Red shogun ceanataur (does red ceanataur have different attacks?)

Daimyo/Purple daimyo hermitaur

Longsword is all purpose. Dont think of them as a noob weapon seeing as you do need some skill to use it. SNS i'd say are more for begginers.

Daiymo either TDS/Wailing cleaver or juggernaut

Longswords are terrible for khezu. The inablity to block combined with lengthy combos make them a roar bitch.

I can pwn khezu easy with L/S, /\ &() is a life saver

I'm starting to beat Khezu really easily all thanks to the longsword. SnS is really hard against Khezu because the reach is so short and leaves me open to attack, whereas with the longsword (katana), when Khezu is thundershocking, I can stab him in the leg or the face with impunity.

LS's are a multi-purpose weapon..
The only things i prefer NOT to LS, are Kirin, gaoren, and plesioth.

For the Khezu I find the SnS the easiest as it is faster than the LS, it can block, and the elemental damage output is more than that of a LS.

I used juggernaut for green Congalala, just super pound him all the time.

Ceanataur and Daimyo hammer is really effective since it can break their shells alot easier than other weapons.

Hammers are a really good weapon choice. Massive damage output, and you are really agile with it, unlike the greatsword.

Well If you're looking for a good all around weapon with good attack, good sharpness and some good affinity I'd say use whatever class you're confortable with and make a weapon from Nargacuga.
