whats the best armor/ weapon to use against them?

im HR2 and i use bows and long swords

Poison is always useful for all of them as it negates their very annoying effects. That is, the wind aura for Kushala and the burning aura for Luna and Teo. So I would advise, if you wanna use an LS, using Wyvern Blade "Leaf" or the highest upgrade of it that you can get. Or you can take a good dragon weapon as they are all weakest to dragon, and flash to negate their auras.

Kushala's armor is useful against Teo/luna with it's Terrain damage reduction, which in turns reduces the damage done from Teo/luna's fire aura. Chamleos armor (or Diablos gemmed for Dragon wind Breaker) is useful against Kushala for it's highly useful Dragon wind breaker. Allows you to get close to him without his wind barrier blowing you down.

As far as weapons go, thunder and dragon are good against Kushala, dragon more tho, and Dragon all the way for Teo and luna, but if you don't have that element, use ice on them tho it wont take off their horns. To remove Teo and luna's horns, your weapon must be of the dragon element. Kushala's horn can be removed with any element or just plain raw damage.

With you bow, use poison coatings to poison them, Kushala is much more vulnerable to poison than the other two and wil stay poisonedmuch longer. When they're poisoned, shoot anywhere you want, but if they have their aura's up, your only limited to shooting the tail tip or face. On kushala, your arrows will be deflected back onto you, inflictig damage, on Teo/Luna, your arrows will just plop down, barely doing damage.

As for your longsword, Eager Cleaver (or if you can upgrade it, Devil Slicer) For kushala, and Wyvern blade leaf for Teo/Luna. Poison will do some good damage to them.

If you badly want to break Teo and Luna's horns, and you don't have rusted weapons, good substitutes (for now) are the Dark Weapons.
They might be a bit of a cheap shot, but they're some of the easiest and earliest Dragon Attributed weapons you can get. There's one for every weapon type, too, so you can take your pick.

Well, it all depends on your point of view.
Personally, I love them both.
GS has a faster unsheathe attack than a LS, but LS has better mobility once taken out fully.
LS' combos are faster to perform, though its Spirit Blade can do little to compare to the raw power of a full GS charge.

So there you go: twin weapons, very much different, very much alike, but both deadly.

Get an armor with the highest dragon resistance and high defense. Since you're an LS user, better use devil slicer for kushala or go and unlock Lao shan lung to get fire dragon sword. You can also use fire dragon sword on Teo/luna.

Mhdude you do not need dragon to take off Luna's horn. Only Teo's. I used my DS on luna and broke her horn.

Just got through fighting Lunastra with Khezu Shock Full+ GS (likewise a thunder element Gs) And Sliced at the horns every chance I got, made her trip alot and got lots of full Lv3 GS charges on the head, did alot of unsheathing attacks on the head, and her horns would NOT come off, and she died in 23 mins. (Btw this was the felyne elder Lunastra)

So I'll stick to the fact only dragon element can remove her horns. And I'm sure alot of people agree with this. I even tried Teo/Luna once with only raw Gs, and the horns wouldn't come off.

I saw lunastras horn come off from my DS. Get a longsword and smack a low leveled (villege elder, not nekoht) lunastra. You will see her horn will come off during the second round.

Ok, I've done the village elder Lunastra with Wailing Cleaver Shin (thunder LS), and still the horns remain intact and she died on the first round. I sliced at the horns every chance I got (again) and still nothing.
I still say only dragon removes the horns. Not sure how the horns came off in your hunt but IMHO, gotta say dragon is the only element to remove the horns.

Hammer COMPLETELY obliterates Teo and Luna - definately the weapon of choice.

For Kusha...probably SnS or DS or LS for fast hitting and easy escape out of combos (DO NOT GET COMBO HAPPY WITH LONGSWORD LIKE AN IDIOT OR YOU'LL DIE). DS is INCREDIBLY easy to demonize him with and not get hit, I would say that would be the fastest method, providing you have Mega Juice or Runner skill. Bows and bowguns aren't that good solo, since your bullets and arrows will bounce off his Wind Aura and actually deal damage to YOU. Unless you have Dragon Attr. to break the head and cancel his wind aura.

You DO need Dragon to break an Elder Dragon's horns, but not to cut the tail.
