I still wanted this forum to be different you know, I've bought up new ideas (Hall of Fame, 'classic' game discussions, 'Show Your Love/Hate' threads - not to mention the clique discussion which could be seen as the trial for an OTD) but nobody else seems to be offering much themselves. Flave messaged me wondering about a mystery member game, to which I never replied. I want to see originality, and I'm not hearing much of it lately. I wouldn't say no easily to an original game or discussion thread.

Yeah but at the end of the day it's an internet forum about a smackdown game used mainly by people who are used to a certain way of things. You can't just force originality, it's basically a choice between a dead forum and one filled with spam.

I've tried to force originality and have had moderate success, just not consistent success.

How would people feel if when the roster is announced, we get a Smackdown 2009 mafia game? That would be an original thing for this forum, and most regulars are familiar with the concept.

At the end of the day it's a similar forum for a similar game. Stop trying to be original, original things will happen if they are meant to happen.

I really don't see the importance of an OTD in community building. All it does is boost forum activity in a bad sense. Since 80% of it is spam.

Last year's OTD was horrible. I remember the 06 forum's OTD. It only reached four threads! While last year reached like what? 60?

Yeah, a fine point Iconic. Edgefan was at the forefront of the downfall of the OTD threads and he seems to be the one who most wants it back, not to mention you tried to turn the Clique Discussion (which was just meant for a bit of fun) into an OTD.

I'd be far more inclined to bring back GFX Divisions than have an OTD, Ped.

The flame fight people are basically gone. Venom is gone...and he attracted many fights, Spuds gone which attracted loads of fights, V_A is gone, Benni_blonde is gone and a lot of the flamers are gone. If your going to put me into that grouping...I only fought because of Spud. There'd be no reasoning for me to fight anyone. And, yes I'll admit I spammed a lot in the OTD's last year but who didn't. Hell even you spammed a lot, and you'll admit it Iconic. If you don't Ill pull out some old quotes from some of them. I remember you for a good month post random stuff and quotes irrelevant to the said topic people were discussing.


Everyone spammed last year. A year has past... I've matured.

But we need a fresh batch of GFX artists to maintain the thread popularity. Most of the artists have left. At least Flave still lurks around, but I doubt he'd want to battle someone.

Before launching the GFX divisions, this forum should form a scheme to reel in new blood.

Put up a Video on Youtube that appears to be porn. Give it all the highlight words such a boobs, tits, sex, porn and so on. Then take a clip from the internet and cut it off before anything sexual happens. After that put in an ad for Neoseeker and then for this forum.

List the Porn title as Ashley Massaro Porn.. People will believe it.

I've been part of the Smackdown Vs Raw community since '06, and there have been OTD's in everyone, But i really wouldnt split hairs if we didnt have one.

At the end of the day Edgefan, you are talkign to the mod of this forum, and you are offering him an ultimatum. you can say people want one all you like, but telling the mod he HAS to have one or people will keep nagging is just dickish.

Also, I don't appriciate being left off of that list of the main argument causes
