Forum Rules

A quick exert of the rules, gathered together from the MGS4 forum and MHF2 forum, I can see this place will be getting a bit of attention. Please make sure to read the rules and that they are abided by.

FORUM RULES AND REGULATIONS

It is firstly important that you read the Forum Wide Rules. This is the basis of many of Neoseeker's forum's rules, and all should be followed.

1 – Spamming
Spamming includes off topic posts, or pointless one liners. We don’t want to see posts that simple say ‘Lol, funny!’ or "Yeah". Put some meaning into them, and stick to the topic of the thread.

2 – Double Posting
There is no need to post twice in a row. The Edit function allows you to add more to your last post, so use this instead of posting twice.

3 – Flaming
Flaming will probably result in an instant ban. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, so don’t go attacking anyone if you disagree with them. If you see someone flaming another member, then report their post. Telling a Moderator that they aren't good at their job is counted as flaming and will result in an instant ban. From now on, don't do it.
4 – Memberating
Do not try to pose as a moderator in any way. We are more than capable of taking care of things. This also includes telling a Mod how to do his/her job. We know how to do our Job, that's why we're Moderators.
5 – Advertising
Advertising of any sort within your posts is against the Neoseeker Policy. If you wish to promote a site, then place the link in your signature.
6 – Creating Threads
You are more than welcome to create a topic, but make sure it doesn’t already exist. We have a thread index, located below this post, so use it. Also, We don’t want to see any ‘General Discussion’, or ‘General Help’ threads, as they are no longer permitted on Neoseeker.
7 - Topic Names
A lot of people ask for help here and I've noticed a lot of topics named "Help me" or "Need Help". Make the title relate to what you need help with. This will help us index it, and help others to come up with an answer.
8 – Grammar and Punctuation
No one likes to have to decipher other peoples posts. Before submitting a post, run it through the spell check, it’s there for a reason. You don’t need to have an English Degree. Just make your posts readable.
9 – Spoilers
This game has just been released and many people may not have not completed it yet. For this reason, be sure to warn others of spoilers.
    code
    [spoiler][/spoiler]

10 – Illegal Material
The discussion of emulators, ROMs, Warez, CD Keys, Cracks, Key Generators or any other kind of illegal material is not allowed in this forum and it is not allowed in Neoseeker.com. Just don't discuss them and you will save yourself of a ban.
11 – Bypassing
Bypassing can be one of two things.
  • Swear Filter Bypassing - Just because you may know some neat trick on how to post a swear word without it being turned into a *bleep* doesn't give you the freedom to. Especially when you use it to flame someone. Don't do it.
  • Ban Bypassing - When you get a ban, don't bypass it and start a new account or post as a guest. We know if it's you, so don't think you can get away with it. Bypassing leads to an even longer IP ban on all of your accounts. Helping a member Bypass will lead to you getting a ban yourself.
12 - Thread Titles
Thread titles must always be informative and related to the topic.
    • "Help me?!" is NOT descriptive
    • "Favorite...?" is NOT descriptive
    • "I can't kill a *Insert person name here*" IS descriptive
    • "I need a *Insert item name here*" IS descriptive
    13 - Disrespecting Moderators
Despite that this is not in the specific forum rules (even though it is a forumwide rule) it should be second nature. Don't disrespect a moderator, ever. Of course, you're allowed to joke with them since they would obviously have a sense of humour and will be friendly towards your joke, but if it comes off as hostile or in an angry way, it could result in a ban. If you are joking and there is a communication error, please feel free to contact the moderator in question and explain your reasoning.
14 - Page Stretching and/or Quote Chains [ul]Do not stretch a page using the [/code] feature, posting an excessively large image or anything of this sort. If your image is quite large, please provide a link to it instead. Stretching any page looks unhealthy and ruins the flow of the thread. We also don't want to see any quote chains of any sort. They are pointless, foolish and will likely result in a ban for participating in one. Don't try and be funny and start one. They aren't fun at all and result in countless spam and reverse to the first half of this rule, page stretching.
BANS AND INFORMATION

Specific rules featured in the header of any thread should be treated with as much respect as the forum rules. Sitewide rules also apply. Any breaking of those rules will also lead to consequences.

---------------------------
If you don’t follow the rules, you may find yourself with a warning or ban. Unless you seriously violate the rules, you will probably start of with a warning. If you continue to break the rules, you will receive a ban.

1st Ban – 1-5 days
2nd Ban – 5-10 days
3rd Ban – 10-20 days
4th Ban – You will receive an IP ban from this forum.

Ban length will vary depending on the rule broken under certain circumstances and the ban circumstances that are listed above are used as a template and do not represent the any actual form of a ban, as the length is at the discretion of the moderator.
