Stuck on Demolition Master |
|
I'm making this thread specifically for my problem in demolition master but I figure it'll be more useful if we extend it to include any and all demolition masters that people need help with.
I'm personally running into a problem on one of the DMs in Eos. I don't know how to win the 1 where you get your hammer, 5 nano rifle shots, and 2 thermaboric rockets. I came close (at least I thought I did) but it seems like if there's a single piece of the building standing you don't win. Anyone know the trick?

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |

I'm stuck on this same DM, Ive found the most ammo-saving method (in my opinion) is to quickly run up each level and whack out the 4 breakable center pillars, eventually the entire inside of the building will drop out, and you've wasted no ammo. I snagged an ammo cache to get 25 rounds, and attempted to shoot out 2 of the sides with the rockets, but this is where I pretty much get stuck, blow all 25 rounds trying to clean up a bit, and then just spend the last minute or so standing around going "what now"
Hopefully someone can help more!

Run inside and grab the ammo from the lower crate. Run back outside to the edge of the out of bounds area and aim the mega rocket at two of the three main supports for the uppermost circular section. If it doesn't fall on top of the building after the two shots, switch to the rifle and strategically take out beams so that the circular section falls on top of the rest of the building. Use the rifle to target the outer skeleton to finish it off. I completed it on 1:04.

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |
quote ZcoreCAThat's similar to what I tried. I ran up to the top of the building and started shooting at the pillars supporting the ring, which takes down most of the building if it falls. Unfortunetly I could never take out enough to complete it. It's nice to know I was on the right track though. EDIT: Just beat it a little while ago actually. What I did was I went inside the building and got the crate of ammo, then I went back outside and fired one of the rockets at what appeared to be a major frame in the center of the building near the top. I then ran to the other side and fired the other rocket. One of the halves of the ring up top got stuck on a pillar so I had to shoot it down with the rifle. After it fell the building when into critical and I manged to beat it with a time of 1:02. To anyone who might be wondering, I used the same approach this time as all the other times I tried and failed this challenge. It seems to have been a game of chance; I just needed to keep trying till I eventually got lucky and things fell in the right place. I should probably also point out that even though the building went critical this time when it failed to do so all the others, I didn't really notice any difference in the damage I caused to the building. There were still pieces of it hanging everywhere, so you don't need to completely obliterate the building. This message was edited by Natural_Correction on Jun 06 2009.

I could really use some help on completing one of the Oasis demolition masters...the one where you're given 8 explosive barrels (green ones) and the target building is across a gap. I understand you're meant to hit the barrels across but they always seem to just roll down the hill in front of me or fly off in stupid directions!
Help please | |

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |
quote HexitusStick the mines you have to the barrels before throwing the barrels down the tubes. Then detonate them when they get to the building. My tactic was to stick 2 and throw them down each pipe, blow a hole in the building and then throw the remaining 8 mines onto the 10 barrels, throw them all down the tubes and enjoy the magic. Hope this helps.

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |

I'll try the 'Undestructable Building' tomorrow, hopefully that'll help (and work)... will only leave 4 more for me to get the trophies (and then I can get the final two propaganda and restart the game for the Guerilla Actions)...
As for answering questions asked in this thread: quote HexitusWhat you need to do first of all is get good with aiming the Remote Charges, because you need to throw three Remote Charges on three different barrles. Then pick each one up and throw it down the left tube. Try to make it go on the center of the tube, so it doens't jump back out or get stuck part way. Then when ALL three have reached the bottom (you can throw another one or two without attaching charges if you like, for good measure, though don't wait for them to reach their destination, just the first three) detonate the charge. Now attach three more and throw them down the right tube (one on the left tube would be good as well). Now this is slightly about luck, as to whether or not the barrels miraculously go inside the building or not, if they do, when you detonate it, it should make the building go critical with plenty of time to spare. quote OXC EditHopefully, I'm not too late, but what you need to do is run at each barrel (Starting from the left most one) and hit R1 (or the right bumper, if your on the XBOX360), with the Sledgehammer. This will catapult it across the gap onto the building. I've heard that this can be done with one barrel, so really you have plenty there to beat the Pro time of 15 seconds. Just remember, DO NOT SPRINT, and make sure you hit it at an angle (test a few times, and you'll realise what angle you need to run them at). I think I got this one in about 8 or so seconds. Hope it helps the two guests above. If it does, please do post to let us know, and do try and register ------------------- ![]()

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |
quote OXC EditI used the left trigger (360) myself: the vertical slam. Get the right distance away and it'll shoot the barrel right across. This is more luck than anything. One good shot will take the whole thing down.

That may be the one the moderator was talking about. I guess it just depends on what your control configuration is.

quote ZcoreCAI tried the verticle slam, but for some reason, it just didn't go as far as I wanted it to, nor did it go in the right direction... Mind I mentioned the right bumper which is the horizontal sweep. Glad to see you've joined the forums ------------------- ![]()

I definitely think that challenge involves the most luck out of all of them, and the baseball style swing could save you some time. I think I could get 4 or so off in time to beat the deadline, and they were by no means consistent or on target. Get to close and they dribble into the ditch. Get too far away and they just don't go far enough.
And it's good to be here...seems like a nice forum. This message was edited by ZcoreCA on Jun 08 2009.

re: Stuck on Demolition Master |

Oh and for the EOS Indestructible Demolition Masters, I figured out a method which worked well for me... Firstly, from where you start, do you see that circular structure in the middle? Well what you need to do is destroy the VERTICLE beams supporting it. There are about 10-15 or of them. So take your first five shots, destroy as many of the beams as you can, then run inside, grab more ammo. This'll be better, since it gives you 5 more Nano Rifle ammo this way (just in case). Now take as many as you can from this side, then head to the left hand side, and do the same, then go to the northern side, and take out as many as you can here. After about a minute or so of firing, it should fall down and take most of the building with it. Now you still have TWO rockets remaining, so all you need to do is fire them at any remaining debris and take them out, and then use the Nano Rifle if there are still more standing...
And tis a great forum, check my join date and you'll see just how long many members have been on this site ------------------- ![]()
