20 Questions - Round 21: Let the Kingdoms begin!
|
Welcome to 20 Questions
It's really simple! This is 20 Questions with a KOEI theme. One person picks an object and everyone else tries to guess the object asking 'Yes' or 'No' Questions.
What makres this game special is Growth Points. You earn GP for stumping and guessing objects. You can then use this GP to level up and earn skills that help you stump other players more easily or help you gues objects more easily. Here's how you earn GP:
Guessers 100GP for asking a 'Yes' Question 150GP for every question left on a list when you guess the object (So if you guess the object on Q18 - you'd get 450GP)
If you guess the object you also get control of the next round.
Stumper 3000GP for stumping everyone
Once you get your GP you can PM me or post in this thread and I'll update your information on the Scoreboard and Tier List.
Here are some general rules:
Anyone can join in whenever they want.
Just ask a question and you're in. I'll put your name on the Scoreboard as soon as you have at least 50GP.
-------------------
Picking an Object
Again, some people are starting to pick some pretty ridiculous objects and it's time to regulate. I really don't want to limit what you guys are able to pick, but there have to be SOME boundaries.
1. OBJECT MUST PERTAIN DIRECTLY TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:
ALLOWED SOURCE Dynasty Warriors - Dynasty Warrior 6 All Dynasty Warriors Expansions Romance of the Three Kingdoms Games Romance of the Three Kingdoms ("The Novel") Samurai Warriors - Samurai Warriors 2 All Samurai Warriors Expansions Warriors Orochi and Warriors Orochi 2
OBECT CAN NOT BE FROM THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:
Dynasty Tactics Dynasty Warriors Vol. 1-2 (PSP) Random Sengoku Facts
Most of you have been very good about this. However, just for completeness sake, I'm adding it as rule #1 because it is the most important.
[b]2. NO COMPOUND OBJECTS
You can't combine two different objects. For example "Fire Orb" is a very specifc object and "Cao Cao" is another veyr specific object. You cannot combine these into "Cao Cao's Fire Orb."
The grey area here, is of course, costume peices. Things like "Guan Yu's Beard" and "Gan Ning's Bells" were pretty important in GAMES and NOVEL and should be considered fair game. Something like "Zhao Yun's headband" will result in point loss and is NOT acceptable.
Things that are acceptable are items like "Guan Ping's Sword", "Guan Yu's Spear", etc.. because these have specific names and are interchangable with "Young Dragon" and "Blue Moon Dragon" respectively. If you pick one, either guess is correct. 3. USE COMMON SENSE
If you think people are going to riot about your choice, then don't do it. To use jeffo as an example, he picked "Scrow Scro Srotumz", which wouldn't normally be considered a good item, but is clearly ok in the context of this forum. The reason I took off points is because he answered questions poorly - which is the next section.
3. PM ME YOUR OBJECT
Once you have chosen an object you must PM me so that I can OK it. Because I will know everyone's objects I will be able to help answers questions.
Answering Questions 1. CONSULT THE DICTIONARY
I've added a list of terms to the first page. If someone asks "Is it TERM" the only possible answers are YES or NO. Don't explain your answer or try to throw people off. Just Yes or No, I've defined each term completely so there should be no gray area.
2. DON'T STRETCH MEANING
If someone asks are is it in all Dynasty Warriors, and you object is "Wu Zhang Plains" don't say NO because Wu Zhang Plains isn't in an XL or Empires. I will bitch slap you pointwise for doing this.
Same goes for anything else. Use the definition of the term as it applies to Dynasty Warriors. I'll try to add things to the dictionary as we move along, but again, use common sense.
3. EXPLAINING ANSWERS
If a question does not apply to your object answer NO and say that the question does not apply. If yo're object is "Lu Bu's Theme - Fire Mix" and someone asks "Is it bigger than a watermelon?" You answer "Bigger than watermelon? No. Does not apply".
If you don't know the answer to a question, make this your reply Is it specific to a stage? YES/NO, but I'm not sure, I think its YES/NO and then add an extra question to the list.
4. DO NOT CHANGE ANSWER
When answering question, be ABSOLUTELY sure that you are answering correctly. If you change your answer later, via an edit, you FORFEIT your turn and LOSE 1000GP. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
5. UNDERSTAND QUESTIONS
If you answer a question wrong, you will lose 1000GP. If you are unsure of what a question is asking, clarify this BEFORE answering the question. If you can't answer a question don't. Talk it out in the thread.
Any confusion will be blamed on the person answering the questions. If shit gets confusing, clear it up, or you lose points.
6. PUT PERSON'S NAME NEXT TO YES or NO QUESTIONS
This is for my sake and you've all been doing this, so, good.
7. DO NOT ASSUME A PARTICULAR GAME
Unless someone specifies a Dyansty Warriors title, assume they are asking about all of them. For exmaple, if your object is the "Wind Scroll" and someone asks "Is it a Special Item" the answer is "Yes" because it was a special item in DW3. If they ask "Is it a special item in DW5," then answer "NO". This also goes for characters, if your object is "Fu Xi" the answer to "Is he playable" is "Yes" unless they specify DW5.
---------- Asking Questions
No "List Questions"! You can't be like:
quote idiot
Is it any of the following: Guan Yu, Chi Bi, Red Hare, An officer of Wei, or physical thing? A bit exaggerated, but you get my point.
Slangster Interventions Now that I know the objects I'm really going to be able to control the game and keep pointless arguements from happening. I will be CLOSELY monitoring questions asked and the way that they are answered. I'll overrule answers if they're misleading or ask guessers to be more specific if their question doesn't really apply to the objects.[/size]

Conquest Map
Territory is obtained through the Dynasty Wars. You collect tax every Friday from all your territories.
Tax - Each territory comes wih a Tax GP bonus which each member of your force will recieve every Friday. The more territories you have the more tax you recieve. Leaders alot this GP however they see fit. So if you have Chang Ban and 3 retainers - every Friday your force gets 1500GP which is spread whichever way the leader chooses.

Customize Your Character
Since alot of the old ways to spend GP have been cut, I'm going to put back in the old "Trophy Shop" from the earlier rounds of the game. Things bought here DO NOT affect gameplay and are just for fun.
The Shop
1. Character Title - *FREE*
Pick a character that you want to represent you on your scoreboard
2. Your Very Own Horse - 750GP
You name it, you ride it, you feed it carrots. It's your very own horse!
3. Oath Arrow - 1200GP
Want to get some oath brothers or sisters? Everyone buy an arrow, snap it half, and ridiculously swear to all die on the same day.
4. An Ice Cream - 625
Adds extra enthusiasm! Bur don't eat too many, you might get brain freeze!
The Kingdoms Shop Here is where you can buy all your Kingdom needs, unless you're not a Politician!
The Shop
1. The Permit - 7500
This is what allows you to buy things in the store.
2. Your Kingdom - 12000
This is where you can create your own kingdom, as long as it is not one of the 0Three Kingdoms. Give it a name, a colour, and even policies if you want! Requires a Permit
3. Bodyguards - 7500 each
Hire a loyal bodyguard to act in your service. Rules regarding bodyguards are displayed below. A maximum of 3 Bodyguards are permmited! Requires a Permit.

Advanced Rules
Master/Retainer Bonds
Once someone becomes a Commander they can sign up a retainer. The relationship between Master and Retainer is pretty simple. First, posts have to be made that show that both people want to join together. Once this bond is established I’ll list it in the allegiance section. Here’s exactly how each party benefits –
First, Retainers get all of their Master’s boosts. All boosts stack. Meaning that if a Master has an ability that raises how much GP you get for stumping everyone, it’ll be augmented by the Strategists own stumping abilities. However, this does not go both ways. A Master DOES NOT get his Retainer’s abilities. Instead, he gets 20% of any GP they earn. So, let’s say a foot soldier has allegiance with a Master who has the Boost ability (200GP on yes answer). Instead of getting 100GP for a yes answer, the Foot Soldier would get 160GP and the Master would get 40GP. Additionally, let’s say that the retainer is a Supply General w/ the Combo ability (1.5x GP for consecutive yes answers). Normally if he got two yes’s in a row, he’d get 250GP. However, with the Master’s boost ability, he’d get 400GP and his master would get 100GP. So as you can see, it’s beneficial to have a Master/Retainer relationship.
The one downside is that you may not guess when it is your master's or fellow retainer's turn to try and stump everyone. But that's a small set back to say the least.
Here's a breakdown of GP gaining under various situations:
Foot Soldier- 3000GP for stumping Total; 3000GP
Prime Minister of Wu- 3000GP for stumping 2x multiplier with skills Total: 6000GP
Prime Minister of Wu Serving under Emperor of Wu: 4000GP for stumping while serving Wu 2x multiplier with skills 20% of GP given to Master Total: 6400GP
Abilities
Everyone gets to have 2 abilities along with their inherent skills. Like you've all probably seen, Politicians break this rule and get to pick more.
Really all I want to say here is that you can't "swap" abilities. Meaning if you have Fence 3 and Limit 1 and then want to buy Lie 1, you need to get rid of Fence or Limit. Let's say you get rid of Fence 3. You can't switch back to Fence 3 without buying it (and Fence 1 and Fence 2) again.
Politician/Bodyguard Bond This works in a similiar way to Master/Retainer bonds. The Bodyguards get all of the powers of their commanding Politician. However, only 10% of the earned money goes towards the Politician's funds. There is another catch. Any Bodyguard whom wishes to leave their Politician must give half of their current total to that Politician! This will truly test your loyalty!

re: 20 Questions - Round 21: Let the Kingdoms begin!

20 Questions Dictionary
These definition are written in stone and there is no room for interpretation. If someone asks about one of these terms answer YES or NO.
1. ITEM
This is something that can be equipped in a menu or picked up in battle. This implies that it is in Dynasty Warriors (I'm not sure how to define it, or if it applies to RotK).
Note: This definition holds for everything except weapons. Weapons are NOT items
Examples of Items: Red Hare, Meat Bun, Arrows NOT items: Cao Ren's Helmet, Chang Ban Bridge, Sky Scorcher
2. STRUCTURE
This is something that is built by men. A structure cannot move.
Examples of structures: Chang Ban Bridge, Huo Lao Gate, Chen Cang Castle
it is pretty obvious what is not a structure. If you do chose something liek "Huo Lao Gate", but you mean the level Huo Lao Gate, you must still answer "{color=blie}YES" to "Is it a structure?"
3. EQUIPPABLE
Equippable implies that you can change these things in the status menu. It does NOT mean that the character coudld take it on or off.
The ONLY things that are equippable are: Orbs, Items, Bodyguards, Weapons, and Horses
EVERYTHING else is not equippable - ie Helmets, Bells, Beards, Any part of the Costume, nothing!
4. ROTK
RotK implies the video game series. If you wish to ask about the RotK novel ask "Is it in the Novel?"
5. UNIQUE
If something is unique, there is only one of it. Period. Unique does NOT mean different than normal.
Things that are unique: Playable characters, Fourth and Fifth Weapons
Things that are NOT unique: bodyguards, soldiers, generic officers, base captains, etc..
6. STAGE SPECIFIC
If something is stage specific it is only seen in ONE stage. Period. There can be NO other interpretation of this.
7. TRIGGERED
In this sense, triggered means triggered by an event. A fire attack is a "triggered" event. The opening of flood gates at Fan Castle is a "triggered" event. Xiahou Dun swinging his sword is NOT a triggered event.
8. PART OF THE BATTLEFIELD
This means phsycailly present on the battlefield.
Examples: A character, a soldier, a tree, a structure NOT on battlefield: Music, Game Modes
9. PHYSICAL
Means it is able to be touched.
Examples: Red Hare, Chang Ban Bridge, A Hole NOT physical: Wei, Music
10. RAISES A STAT
This means the item DIRECTLY raises Attack, Defense, Life, Musou, Range, Speed, Horse Attack, Horse Defense, Bow Attack, Bow Defense, Musou Refill, or Charge Attack.
If something deals damage via fire or collision with the ground or other troops this does NOT count as something that raises a stat.
Also the "Naturally Raiseable Stats" are Attack, Defense, Life, and Musou
11. RARE ITEM
Gained by completing special tasks. Don't be idiots people. A Rare Item is a Fourth/Fifth Weapon or an Item in a Red Item Bag.
Examples; Sky Scrocher, Musou Armor, Green Scroll NOT Special Items: Meatbun, War Sword, Tortoise Amulet
12. DEAL DAMAGE
Lowers your HP Bar. Period. No, it could deal damage if thrown bullshit.
13. GAMEPLAY
Gameplay refers to something that directly affects your playing. When answering the question "Does it affect Gameplay?", ask yourself this - If this object was blanked from the game, would a stage/level/any gameplay, be different. A Tree does not affect gameplay. Neither does a fence. A river on the map doesn't affect gameplay, unless its involved in a triggered event. A weapon, person, skill, item, or horse all affect gameplay.
Don't hand me the line that if this river wasn't here then I could go attack the commander of the enemy force faster. It must actually affect your playing experience in a reasonable way.
14. CLAN
Typically used in the Sengoku fashion, this refers to the family. Clan being their family name. If your name is Bob Dole, Dole is your family name. Common family names are Oda, Date, Takeda, etc. So they would be the Oda Clan, Date Clan, and Takeda Clan. If the person shares the family name, they are in that clan.
15. RETAINER
Ranmaru Mori doesn't belong to the Oda Clan, but he is a retainer of them. If you ask "Are they part of the Oda Clan?" And the Answer is "No", that is indeed correct. If you want to know if a person belongs to a certain Daimyo or force, ask if they are a Retainer of said Daimyo/Force.
16. NON PLAYABLE CHARACTER (NPC)
A NPC is Cheng Pu. It is not a wolf. Not a tiger. Not a deranged Orangutan. Its a Character that isn't playable.

Is it in DW?
----
SadXuHuang (Mitsunari Ishida) "Grand Regent" - 9850GP Abilities: Poison 3, Fence 2, Block 2, Limit 2, Counter Attack 3
According to the spoils of War:
The War!: Wei's Round: SXH - 2 Yes's - 200 HG - 1 Yes - 200 Sleva - 3 Yes's - 320, 80 to HG LBtM - 2 Yes's - 320, 80 to ZTR Spawn - 7 No's, Stump - 3840, 960 to MCC
Oda's Round: Spawn - 3 Yes's - 720, 180 to MCC MCC - 1 Yes - 300 SXH - Guess on 21/22 - 300
Spawn, Guang, and MCC - 2000GP Each, 3 Level 1-2 Skills (To be distributed by MCC)
SXH - 3000GP, a Level 3 Skill
Sleva, HG (Jfury and GM didn't take part) - A Level 1 Skill, 250GP each.
This Level 3 Skill... do I have to buy level 1 and 2 skills in order to procure it or can I just jump to level 3 from nothing?
With that question on the table, I'll start my own kingdom!
But first, are shop items 50% off like how abilities cost 50% to me?

About the Ability, that was the point. It allows you to instantly gain the Level 3 of whichever skill you wanted. MCC suggested I chose the abilities as most are different, I just never did...
And no, Politician Powers do NOT affect shop costs. They make abilities cheaper, not items
