Well, this thread is basically for people to post any bit of information they find on the game, such as release dates, character pictures, trailer's and other such things. Please only post official things, rumors that you heard from your friends are not information, so please make sure to confirm something and have sources before posting. Also, this thread is not for discussing information as that will make it harder for people to find actual information. The first teaser trailer;


The only confirmed character's are; Sub Zero, Scorpion, Batman and Superman (like anyone wasn't expecting them) and included in the new combat (kombat) engine is free-fall kombat (where, instead of just throwing people off of buildings, you fight them mid-air as you fall (seen in trailer)) and klose kombat which (in the words of Boon)

Edit/Update: So, Superman is in the game? How do you kill someone who is invulnerable?

I'm sorry to confirm our fears aswell, but there will not be fatalities. Apparently though, there are finishing moves like fatalities, just without as much the mindless gore
Saying that though, I don't believe DC would have let Sub Zero rip out Batman's spine anyway, let alone give Scorpion the chance to tear off Supermans limbs
The new combat systems (which are plentyful and switch seeminglessly during battle), and the fact that Boon is relentlessly trying to push the gore as much as possible for the game without upsetting DC, does make it a little easier to swallow... that and the prospect of uppercutting batman off of a skyscraper.
Boon has said he's aiming for 20 characters, 10 from MK and 10 from DC, none of them new, all of them icons. For full details and the whole videgamer article, check here

Is Reptile going to be in the game or just few of mortal kombat characters

Almost no info has been given out for the game yet, and the only characters named so far have been Scorpion, Sub Zero, Batman, and Superman We may need to wait a little while for more info.

The Mortal Kombat series has always been known for its superviolent fatalities and bloody finishing moves. When Mortal Kombat 8 was renamed into Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe many fans worried fatalities would be toned down or removed completely by Midway.

It's an assumption that, because the DC characters will be in there, those features will have to be dropped. My response is that, no, we're modifying fatalities. But I have every intention to keep finishers. You know, to let gamers do a really cool secret button combination and follow with a really outrageous finishing move to end the match. The names of these moves, and the level of violence we use, are to be determined. But it's certainly not a feature we plan on eliminating from the series."

I guess we'll find out for sure how violent the game will turn out when it's released in November 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3 and maybe Wii.

The Flash and Sonya confirmed.

There are pics on the site. I'd post the pics but i suck and don't know how to do that but they are on the site.

Also at the bottom of the site someone talks about other characters that will be in the game. Not sure how legit that is, but the Flash and Sonya pics look real enough to me.

I don't even know who Flash is. It's nice to see more confirmed characters though.

Here is basically what's there now;

• Story; Just a short, simple, no-detail synopsis saying some sorcerers merged the universes... yay?..

• Trailers; Two in total, the initial Sub-Zero/Batman one and the longer, more revealing E3 one.

• Pictures; Some interesting screen-shots, the same four environments that were up before and character renders of Superman, Batman, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, new ones for the confirmed characters from the E3 trailer Shang Tsung, Sonya Blade, The Flash and Catwoman and new renders for newly confirmed characters Liu Kang and Shazam (whoever the hell that is )

• MKast; Podcasts, I think. I didn't bother with them.

So yeah, check it out (and don't make a guest have to give out information again )

... Ok, when I was wondering "How the hell is anyone from the MK universe going to go one on one against the Superman?" they said "Kriptonite and magic" and it was digestible to my brain... But the question now is... "HOW THE HELL WILL ANYONE FROM MK UNIVERSE GONNA TAKE DOWN CAPTAIN MARVEL?"

Aside from that, I'm now a bit calmed about Liu Kang not being a zombie.
