i think it's so you can like re-do charts, and simplify hard parts if you suck, or add more in if you pwn.

and about satch, i wouldn't think that this early in development he would be in much contact with activision about what song is going to be in the game. but either way that's great news for us "guitarists"

i think the music creator is an application to create original songs and have the game chart it for you.

what i think some people think it is is something that lets you import songs and then chart them.

although i wish it was the second one, that would let people get free songs without having to buy them DLC, and activision would lose huge money.

nah, rb2 won't have vocals in the music creator either. you could just take a vocal track from a song and record that. that is what they're worried about, because they don't have the licensing to allow that. neither company does.

I don't see why they have a problem with vocals and sueing... if someone is willing to sing your song... you've gotta have a decent fanbase.

I wasn't really suggesting it, more hypothetically if Rock Band 2 did we'd be screwed.

the legal reason behind no vocals is that if someone did upload a song with a real vocal track in it, activision would need the permission from the band that wrote it before they could distribute it.

i'm no law student, but that's what makes sense to me :\

That is why they could just make it incompatible with MP3's and such, and you can only record through singing into the Mic.
