if you go to a truly shiny patch, one that flashes twice and is a pinkish color, then it is 100% a shiny pokemon. more sparkles means more rare.

The 100% accurate fact is 1 in 40 chance with pokeradar. if you start a chain for 40 pokemon there will be a 100% chance that 1 of those 40 will be shiny

I have never heard of this before, but if it is true, then that makes things easier. ------------------- ![]() | |

I havn't ever heard that either, I just thought that at a chain of 40, the chance a shiny patch will appear is at its highest. When you are chaining before that, the chance just keeps rising. I heard somewhere, although this is probably just someone's guess, that at a chain of 40+ the chance is 1/200 of a shiny patch appearing.

You can probably find a youtube video. And yes this is true, you need a chain of 40 (same pokemon) without breaking that chain. Then the 40th one should be shiny if done correctly.

after 40 chains, you have a 1/200% chance, or .5. but since theres 4 patches, its really like a 2% chance

a 2% chance @ 40 means it will sometimes take awhile to get a shiny, since your chances do not increase anymore after 40. Because your odds do not improve after 40 chains, just stop after you get to 40 and keep resetting the radar until you see a shiny patch.
