All of those moves are wrong in some way. giga impact and explosion don't hit ghost types. earthquake can't hit flying types, hydro cannon ect. all take an extra turn to recharge. Fly can be countered with sky upper cut or dive.
To summarize this. A pokemon wasn't given one move to use alone. They were given moves that work together to become strong. Any move alone can be worthless. For exapmle, Togekiss's air slash is a pretty good move but a rock/steel type like Probopass can wall it all day long. But, someone invented more then one move. (GASP!) Aura sphere can make up for that lack of good typing and probably OHKO-2KO Probopass then. Alone, air slash or aura sphere are just attacks that can be proven worthless. But together, the only thing that resists both of them together is Rotom.
To conclude this topic, "Just like no pokemon is greater then all of the other" and "Its not what one pokemon can do alone, but what one pokemon can do to help its team." No move is better than all of the other moves and plays some role into winning a pokemon battle." All quotes that have been said by me and before me many times.
Case Closed. How very wise of you. However, if you were as smart as you sound you'd easily know that this thread is opinion based. Everyone already knows that all moves have their weak points, but someone is just simply asking which one you think is best at what it does. You didn't have to go into some rant or speech about how you don't think that there is a 'best move'. And if you are just going to say that opinions don't matter, save it, because that's exactly against the point of this thread.
I for one think that Mirror Coat and Mirror Shot are pretty cool, especially in PBR. They have great effects and have pretty awesome battle graphics (well, excluding Mirror Coat in D/P/Pl). As smart as I sound? Are you saying that I am stupid or that I can be stupid?

Saying no one move is better than another is like saying no one pokemon is better than another... and we all have our opinions on that.
Personally, I like Brave Bird, or any of the type variations. Power is good and the recoil damage isn't too bad. Not a fan of earthquake just because it hits your partner in double battles. And I can never keep straight which floating pokemon can have the ability levitate.

No one has said Outrage yet so I'm gonna put it up there. Most Pokemon that learn it have high base attack stats and are fast. It also is very powerful and can only be stopped by Steel Types (which, really, isn't that common in-game)

Agility, Acupressure or Double Team
No-one here has mentioned an un-offensive move yet =D
Agility is frequently used and is brilliant at getting speedy pokemon even speedier.
Acupressure gives random stats a boost which is good for roughly the same reasons as Agility but I'd rather use Agility than a move which is randomized.
Double Team constantly annoys me when I'm training pokemon, it seems to make most of my attacks miss after the foe uses it once which is why I've dubbed it "Hax Team"
The offensive attacks are 90% useless without un-offensive. For example Solarbeam leaves you open to attack unless the ability Drought is in effect or the move Sunny Day is used.
