Krunal that is a god awful reason not to get this game. This is easily the greatest RPG I've ever played. FFVII, Grandia 2, everything takes a back seat to this game.

couldn't have put it better myself man. sure, this is my first time playing a persona game, but i've played other rpgs that you've mentioned and this one is the best by far (for all reasons that you've stated). i really hope that there's a persona 5 in the making, and actually hope it's for ps2 again so i can play it. ;-;! but i guess i'll have a good reason to buy a ps3 if p5 does come out though... :U

Yeah, this is a good game and I'm enjoying it so far. I haven't played a turn based RPG in forever and I was never a fan of them in the first place. The story is very engaging although it is based around something as small as a murder case as opposed to an organization of villains trying to take over the world. It really builds up, it's great. Also, social links are awesome. When I do them I don't really care much about ranking up as I do about getting into the story and developing bonds with other characters.

That said though, if Persona 5 is for the PS3 I'll go out and buy one instantly as I don't have one yet... even if I have to pull the cash from my savings (which shouldn't hurt it too much).

Persona 3 and Persona 4 have become my favorite games of all time with Atlus skyrocketing to my favorite gaming company and there's no way I'd miss P5 just because I don't have a PS3.

It's tough to justify buying a PS3 for a potential Persona 5 when my beloved Star Ocean is still only coming out for XBox... =*( Now, put Star Ocean AND Persona 5 on the PS3 (not to mention the new Final Fanasies) and I'd go without food, water and electricity for a month to buy one.

I could care less abotu Star Ocean and the direction Final Fantasy has ben taken these past 10 years.

Personally I'd rather Shin Megami Tensei 4 over Persona 5.

Or maybe another Digital Devil Saga!

I think I'd be equally happy with Persona or DDS. I'd like a DDS first and then P5, but w/e. I think SMT is definitely 3rd pllace for me.

Final Fantasy XII bored me and the stories never even really interest me, but that doesn't mean I can't keep hoping that the next Final Fantasy will be as fun as 6 or 7...

I just thought of another game: Valkyrie Profile 2. The battles are more action oriented, but the replay value was high since the difficulty increased with each subsequent playthrough.

Well, i guess the direction SQEX haas been taking the last ten years. XII, Kingdom Hearts, the FFVII Compilation -- its all been a steaming pile of crap.

I thought XII was a rennaissance after... everything else since 9. All grown up. (interestingly enough Squeenix appear to be publishing Atlus games in Europe now).

Wouldn't surprise me if the Wii was where Persona continued its life, with production costs on the other consoles being substantially higher.
