re: Persona 5? |

I also feel that next installments of the main SMT and Persona Sagas should be for current-gen consoles (PS3,Xbox360 and Wii), but SMT Devil Summoner 2 is coming out for PS2, so there may be a chance for more SMT games for PS2 in the future. Personally it doesn't bother me which platform it will be for when it comes out, graphics aren't important to me, gameplay and story is.

I'd put money on the next SMT being the PS3 debut.

I assume that's after SMT: Devil Summoner 2 for the PS2 and SMT: Devil Survivor for the DS are out right?
Sorry, kind of lost track of the thread after not visiting it for a few days. >_>; I was reading in my recent Game Informer magazine about how the industry analyst Michael Pachter was agreeing with the current rumors about a PS3 price cut, saying he believes the 80GB PS3 will drop $100 to $299 sometime in April. If this true, I wouldn't mind the next SMT after the current two to be released for the PS3 because the price cut would help justify buying it just for the SMT series and a few others. ------------------- ![]()

Apparently yes the game is taking place in the u.s Texas to be specific, i would much rather the game be for ps2 i want one more good game before i throw it out, i am getting this game no matter what, even *gulp* buy a wii if it comes to that, Social links are the core of why most of us love p3 and 4, it would be cool if they made more than the 22 arcana, although to be honest i cant think of any others. sorry for rambling on.

my first playthrough is about 2 hours ago. and i must say that this game was ONE of the best RPGs that i have ever played. not THE best but one of it.
who can tell whats the best RPG out there? no one. everyone has their own opinions and tastes. me too. but who cares what other game is better in any other direction. as long as the game is fun its cool(ok... XENOGEARS is UNBEATABLE with the amazing storyline... but thats just a FACT^^. otherwise the graphic sucks. whatever) one "+" here one "-" there... persona 4 is definitly worth the money and the time. thats bottom line! but okay... lets talk about the things that should change in persona 5: ->little less time-preasure for maxing up s-links and stats(i was never really comfortable with any time-preasure-thingys in ANY games. and im not that typ of guy who wanna play a game more often... until i reached the end. in this case the true end) ->a bit bigger world with more scenarios ->dungeons that are not ALWAYS the same structure and... almost always pretty the same. i rate persona 4 an "8-9 out of a 10" cya from germany

re: Persona 5? |
quote MrAlmasyI kind of agree. In both P3 and P4 I found I couldn't finish up all the S-Links before the game was over. I think part of that was not knowing how much certain things affected you. For example, in P4 you can go and eat the meat bowl on rainy days after school. This boosts 3 different stats, but exactly how much the boost was is unclear.

In all actuality, creating and maxing out every social link in the game is more than possible. Of course, it is not possible on one's first run through of the game. The best thing to do is to max out your personality stats during your first run. Then in New Game+ you won't have to worry about whether or not you should study for the exams or wrack up dilligence.
Me, personally, I adored this game to no end. The story was very well written, and the additions to the gameplay were just as magnificent. If a P5 was to come out, whatever system it happens to land on, I will be purchasing it. I can say though, that Atlus took the animation style into the anime-ish sense for P3 and P4 to appeal to a broader group of people. Contrary to popular belief, a large number of people actually sent suggestions to the game company asking that the style be changed. People grew tired of the dark tone used in every single SMT game before P3 and P4. I was one of those people. On the subject of which game should come first, I could care less what order they come in. If it's DDS3 (which makes me wonder how on earth would they even continue such a depressing game), then I'll grab that. If it's P5, I will definitely be grabbing that. I am very, very picky about the games I play, due to the fact I am a sucker for a good story. P3 and P4 delivered satisfaction without faltering. Though this is all my opinion, I give P4 a 9.5/10. Aoi.

Are you sure it's not possible on the first playthrough? There is a max social link guide on Gamefaqs. I think it's mainly a matter of being very careful with your time management.

Apparently the working title is "Persona 5: Texas" and as the title subtely hints, you'll be a student in Texas - more specifically rumors are saying you'll be a college student. Apparently the "Dark Hour" will be focused around chruch (instead of a TV or Tower) and leaked info is saying that concept art of the main character features him wearing an iPod and, more importantly, a SEES band. Also, it's most likely going to be a PS3 release, maybe 360 as well.
No real source on this, just look up stuff on P5 to confirm. and PS -- it's totally possible to max out on the first playthrough. It's simply easier on a second. ------------------- ![]() TRISTAN ASHE

..... *snort* Texas?
Well... I suppose I would be able to relate to that more than anything else *Texan* but... it just sounds way too hokey. >_> Will there be a boss battle at the Alamo? I suppose I can't judge it until more info is released or this is actually confirmed, though. However, I do enjoy the idea of it being a college student this time around-- Perhaps we'll have more of a window open for older and different characters. Grrr. I'll need to invest in a PS3 if that information turns out to be true. Bye bye, hard earned money.... How frivolously I spend you. -------------------

This is great news... even if it is set in Texas.
Please let it come out on the 360 too... I just bought one last week finally and I'm not sure I'll be able to get a PS3 for awhile now. XD Or if it is just PS3 only, hopefully it will have a price cut by the time this is released. ------------------- ![]()

I don't think being in Texas will make any difference. Aside from persona and place names being more western style it should be pretty much the same.
That SEES band rumour is interesting. Elizabeth was supposedly looking for a way to free the MC from P3 so maybe she has something to do with the fifth game? I'll be interested to see what direction they go with for graphics, the anime style of 3 and 4 worked quite well IMO. Changing to high definition is almost unneccessary.

I believe the whole Texas part is a joke though.
It's not so much thinking the game would change as it is questioning the randomness of the location. I would react the same way to Persona: Minnesota. The PS3 part, however, is looking to be quite true. I can't say I blame them-- They can't stay fixated on a single "aging" console forever. It's not a valid business option. (At... at least we got another Devil Summoner game for the PS2, though.... ;-; ) -------------------
