Worth it? |

Ok, the reviews are very mixed but all say the same thing, great graphics and sound, fun but very repetitive combat and the more you like the original series the more you dislike this new game, what do you think? should i buy it with my christmas money?
thanks alot. | |

Well it is a good game with great graphics and sound effects but the combat gets repetitive. Its your choice but if you like one on one combat and acrobatic challenges then your going to love it.Otherwise not recommended.

That review(s) seems pretty true, I found myself pressing less buttons than usual to do wall runs and combat which to be honest I didn't like cause after three ganes you get used to the controls

I would recommend it to anyone who has played the last three games and enjoyed them, or for anyone who enjoys a good platformer.
I personally believe that you press the same number of buttons, just that they are different one then we are used to. Instead of using R1 to wall run, you use the A button. The only place where that statement seems to be true is in the flight sequences (Elika gets magic which enables the two of them to fly on-rails) but even then, you must watch out as the game does not control the characters, you have to make them avoid the dangers of the world. So in my eyes the argument that you don't push alot of buttons doesn't make any sense to me, would you rather push twenty buttons to do one action? Or would you rather use the control stick to control the character? I found combat to be much much better, as I was varying my attacks with every soldier, but with the last three games, all I would do is do the same move over and over, knowing that I would have more to kill. Meanwhile with the new fight system, I found that doing the same thing over and over again wasn't going to work, so I was forced to change my tactics. The one-on-one fights work well. The combo system is deep and easy to grasp, yet hard to master. Best part is that you really feel like an acrobatic badass as you neigh seamlessly flow between combos. Graphics and sound? Great, every scene from the game looks like a painting, every sound effect and piece of music fits perfectly. The main theme, is firmly grounded in reality, but has a touch of the fantastic, going perfectly with the game, not to mention that I find it really hard to get out of my head. The one big down side is the length, if you just run through the game, you will have it done in under 12 hours, and with little reason to replay it, aside from unlocking some cool customs for the Prince and Elika. All and all it is a good game, by no means is it perfect, but rarely is a game, if you enjoyed the last three I would suspect that you will enjoy this one. But as other people have said, they did like the last three, but didn't like this one. I enjoyed both the old series and this new one, save for the ending, but that should best be experienced first hand. ------------------- Game over man! Game over!

ok first of all its a great game
i loved the sands of time trilogy and love this game to ive heard complaints from some people who belived that it didnt have a story the fitted into a timeline but its not meant to the developers themselves have stated in the CE stratagey guide interview that its not a sequel or a prelude its A prince of persia game and is just a moment ok one the combat i think that if you try and memorise combos that u can do the same thing over and over but i feel that if u just do what u want to do its better so tel urself ok what do i want to do ok il slash im a few times with my sword then il do an acrobatic move ok awsome hey il throw him up into the air yeah and then il jump up to him ok thats kool now il slash him again so if u just do wat u feel like doing its much more fun ok and the acrobatics are great in that if u want a chalenge try and do areas with a rhythim and dont pause like just keep going and also alot of people dont like the fact that u cant die well its sort of that it means u interact with the companion even more and if ur a real pro u wont fall of the ledge but at the same time if ur a rookie u dont get all confronted with a ur dead! screen if u fall of the ledge ok thats my speal Defcon1 ------------------- ![]() | |

If you rush through, it'll take you 6-7 hours to complete. But, if you play it without following a guide, and actually take time to enjoy the experience, expect to get more than 15 hrs from it.
