My Level 68 Blaziken, 98% of the time on its own, defeated the Elite Four and Champion Steven.

Apparently, a kid of my mom's friends wanted to play Sapphire since he had Ruby so he could see how far I've gotten. I knew I shoulda put Skarmory away 'cause the dingus entered the Pokémon League without ME knowing!

Ugh...my 6 Pokémon consisted of a Level 40 Skarmory, a Level 32-ish Graveler, a Level 27 Raichu, a Level 13 Ralts, a Level 23 Loudred...

...and my loyally awesome Level 67 Blaziken.

So the kid shows me the first fight, and the fighting screen looked rather strange. I had never seen it before, and it looked vaguely at what you'd see at Team Aqua's cavernous hideout. Blaziken pretty much went through a review session, and annihilated everything, as usual. Then the fight ended.

I got mad. Not only I couldn't back out of the Elite Four area, but the damn kid saved the game at the steps towards the first of the Four.

I wasn't ready for this at all. My item pack helped very little. So, I went ahead anyways:

Phoebe used Dark types, so Raichu's Thunderbolt helped on the the first Dusclops, but it was quickly KO'ed. Skarmory did random moves, like Fly and Air Cutter. Blaziken finished them all off with Ember.

Now, Glacia used Ice, and many of you would think I'd get ice cubed. But ya gotta remember Blaziken can just roast them just as well. Walrein was the only one giving me a bit of trouble.

Ahh, Drake... It was kind of a toss-up, but I devised ways to get through. His last Pokémon, Altaria, was a cinch.

Now Steven knew what he was doing. I didn't. I tried to go as far in as I could. Skarmory got taken down with Ember, but the others that followed just wolloped me since they just loved to do Earthquake.

I turned off the GBA. I was in a slump. I couldn't get out of this. And I certainly did NOT want to see what happens if I lost ANY fight with the Elite Four plus Steven. My item pack got drained. I used up my best HP-restoratives, like Max Heal and such. I used 25 of my 45 Lemonades.

Then it hit me: before I tweaked Blaziken, I had Sky Uppercut, Double Kick, Ember, and Bulk Up. Now, Sky Uppercut actually did some great damage, and Ember worked quite a bit too. So I thought up of ways to try to use some very, very powerful attacks quickly and efficiently.

Thus, two TM's came into play: Fire Blast, and Brick Break. I used them to replace Double Kick and Ember (ugh, I had to waste a good PP Max on Fire Blast...). I made one more attempt...

Fire Blast just took down about 3 of Steven's Pokémon in one hit. It was great! And Brick Break really helped againt Claydon (it was a back-and-forth thing, which is what I wanted to happen so Steven's Full Restores would diminish). And that...er...plant looking thing was his last resort, and it saved me by not causing a lot of damage.

1 Pokémon versus 25. And not a Revive upon him. How's that?

The post was perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

Anyways thats some nice strategy. I remember a similar thing happen to me when i was playing Pokemon Crystal but i actually had a full team of under levelled pokemon (all under 40).

With a 15-level advantage, Pokemon that CAN'T singlehandedly sweep the league are more the exception than the rule.

I think ya did fabulas! I've been in a situation where I barely had any items with me, and I thought I was going to lose, but, since I have a Blaziken also, he rocked!
