If halo were real... Well I would be sooo happy holding a plasma rifle and I would go throw the Halo at some planet I hate.

if you look at it scientificly (sp?) we do have the technology to deafeat them. Plasma and beam technology relies on magnetics to hold the atoms togehter.(or something like that) So, all you'd need is a nice powerful magnet to disperse the plasma. Plus the plasma would have to deal with the earths gravitation, thus slowing it down. And no you wouldn't need an electro-magnet.
