If HALO was real, than the Covenant invasion woudn't be coming for about another 500 years and we'd have plenty of time to expand on to other planets and further develop our military technology to kick the Covenant's ass.

If Halo were real, we'd all be boned because IRL, there are no respawns. So when you get mauled by a brute that's all of a sudden gone ballistic, or taken out by a sniper you missed before, you don't get to try again. Let alone the fact that when you flip the warthog over, you would actually die, because we won't have the luxury of MJOLNIR armor.

Azrim...if halo were real then everything in the game would be real as well. Now if the question was put across as "what if the Halo ring was real?" then yes we would be screwed and as humans curiousity would get the better of us, send a probe or astronauts over there and set the flood free.

However since the question is more grouping the whole game together, I think we can safely come to terms that technology would advanced far enough to have MJOLNIR armour and weaponry. Though yes there would be no respawns but who needs them
