We all know that the Halo 2 we saw in the movies was not the Halo 2 we played. Driving around in a Warthog on the streets of New Mombosa with the marines driving us around shooting the piss out of everything with the Gauss then having the Brutes jump down and one take out your crew, jacking a ghost and running it around being chased by the Brute, running the ghost through the closing door of the tunnel, only to be met with a crew of plasma-sword toting Elites and the Chief's now infamous pose and line 'You're on'...I was dissapointed to see none made it. So much shit they showed us didn't even make it. The original opening scene with the Chief in the station, grabbing his Battle Rifle and peering out the window in the air lock at the war-torn and bleeding Earth...jumping out onto the Covie cruiser, remade.


But that's beside the point...what I'm trying to get at is are you at all dissapointed that what you've been seeing the past 3 years you didn't get to play at all for yourself? I would have loved to have drive around the streets of Mombasa with the Gauss cannon, and battle with the Helljumpers more than just once, and for such a short period of time too.

Overall there were some very disappointing things about it, but I pretty much set myself up for the fall hoping for that so much. Halo 2 still kicked ass, don't get me wrong, better than anything I've ever played, but yeah. Personally I think we were on Earth for a too short amount of time, and focused way too much on the Flood, again.

Oh well, just my opinion.

I thought the earth levels were awful. Why would i want to be in the same environment as the other 1,789,543 pc shooters? I want alien architecture, i want to be brutally out numbered by the flood - in Halo 2 i thought they were very aggressive, just the way i like it

We don't want generic, we want original. I thought mombassa was very uninspired, i actually broke off from that level. I prefer the alien and organic levels - give it an indentity, a heritage if you will.

The elite levels were not brilliant, however, when you master the energy sword, that really makes those levels more enjoyable - taking down 5 brutes with one of those puppies is seriously cool.

You have to admit it's disappointing not being able to fight alongside the ODST's longer.

If I hadn't seen any of those movies I would probley like the game more, but I like most Halo fans did see those movies and when you find out that you don't even get to do half of the stuff that you saw you get really pissed and dissapointed...

Yea I loved fighting with the ODSTs they were one of the few good things about the game.

I really do belive that this was a Concept Game.... there were so many new things they needed to put in from Halo, and even three years wasn't enough to satisfy them.

Halo 3 will be here much quicker and end up being much better thanks to the fact that it won't be the huge jump that Halo 2 was. All the new elements and graphics are there, all they have to do is focus on the story.
