[Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

I know this has been posted before but, don't you believe this is getting way outta hand? I constantly see standbying nowadays, and today I got bridged five times, twice by the same people, and three times by other items. The sad thing is, you would think people would do it on Team Slayer, but no, they have to do it on Team Skirmish, and its getting rather frequent on levels 20's.

I'm not bitching or anything, but I do wonder what do people gain from this? Level means nothing, just equals more fair games. After having an argument with this team for about 10 minutes and they were bragging they were so "good" and that we got "owned" when they were bridging[sp?].

Edit: DBZ and pyro, if this is not acceptable feel free to delete.

Yeah, we've all played against modders at least five times by now. The only possible solution to it is for people to realize a big two-digit number next to their name doesn't make them a better player, just more *bleep*ed. That's why I never play ranked games anymore, if I even play at all.

Yeah, you can host custom games, but they get boring after a while. That is why I go on matchmaking, just for a small challenge. And the only playlist I seem to have fun with nowadays is team actionsack.

re: [Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

Bridging is when the connection host manually "bridges" or lags people out of the game. I don't know exactly how it works, but it's quite obvious that it's happening when your teammates start quitting by the minute for no apparent reason.

The best way to avoid cheating altogether is to go into MatchMaking with a very small party. I know half of the fun is playing with your friends, but modders almost always come in full parties, so you're less likely to get modded if you're not in a full party, as the MatchMaking system almost always makes big parties play other big parties (for balance).

Team ActionSack is definitely a cheat-free zone, though you still get the morons and pre-pubescent teens, unfortunately.

re: [Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

Bridging is when you connect your XBOX's ethernet to a Bridge through your computer. That way you can manipulate the game as Host. You can also always have host on your team. You can standby with it or kick people out of the game. I don't know exactly how it works or what else you can do with it.

It's a sad fact. There's really nothing you can do about it. You see some nerd ass cheaters/hackers/modders in every online game. Though on the contrary on XBOX Live, cheating is very very well contained compared to other online games. But there's nothing you can do about it other than report them then Bungie will eventually look into it and kick out yet another cheater making at least one less to worry about.

What I usually do is I go to matchmaking by myself most of the time. That way you might run into modders half the time in matchmaking, but about half the time, they'll be on your team. Most people think that's a horrible idea because you run into shitty players. But when you are fairly high ranked you rarely need to be concerned about that.

re: [Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

You gotta be BAD at this game to have to cheat between level 20-30. Seems everyday more and more bad kids get online thinking they are good and get destroyed. They have to cheat to feel better about themselves. Dont worry about them, rank means little anymore. If your legit then cool. But nowadays, customs are the way to go.

re: [Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

I know rank means nothing, but it gives me a challenge against other people, just the plain fact of people cheating on the 20's is rather stupid, and idiotic. I don't seem to notice why people do it anyway. Alot People can't seem to get past over level 30 being legit, its sad that you have to cheat to do so. I know people who are legit, but the rests are stupid.

I know custom games are the way to go, but they get boring after a while. Going against the same people, and you know how to play thus making you go to matchmaking.

What is the point of cheating? Honestly?
The only good thing about cheaters is when you get to be on there team.

I have to say though I do like it when two modders face each other.

Except nowadays people bridge to modders... So you always know which modder will win.

re: [Cheating] Modding/Standbying/Bridging

People who cheat to get there rank up suk. But others like about three of my live friends mod and they only do it in custom games for fun because the game does get repetitive. And they can still can go into matchmaking just to prove that they haven't gotten banned.

True, I don't seem to believe why is it so great to have a 45+ within your name, doesn't it take the fun away from the game? I mean I've been in custom games with modders but I got sick of it after a while. Yes, it is fun at first, but then it just gets old.

Or get modded at least a hundred times now, at least at the level I'm at. -_-

They just have no life, and cannot compensate for anything in their wasted existance other than a petty number. Its just another extension of them, like a post count.
