PES Forum 2nd Interviewee

20PeSTaR09 profile

PES Forum Interviewer

EricF profile

----------

The interview began at 21: 49. I will be referring 20PeSTaR09 as Paul, just to make it handier.

----------
    Paul: Interview?
EricF: Hey there

How were those 10 minutes for you?
Paul: I fitted a lot in
EricF: That's what she said

Anyway, yeah I'm up for it now if you like
Paul: I managed to play with MufcMatt for a few games

    Yeah let's do it
EricF: Firstly, how has your day gone today?

Anything eventful moments?
Paul: Meh, just like any other Sunday, woke up late, sat out in the sun for a bit, got bored, played Call of Duty 4

    Very eventful
EricF: I wouldn't like it any other way, fair play.

You ready to get into srs questions now?
    Paul: Yeah man!
EricF: *Okay, I'm so excited!

I know you stumbled upon Neoseeker around the same time as I did, but what was it that had you find the site?
Paul: Well, I was playing PES5 and all the kits were shite! So I thought to myself: Let's found a way around this.

So, naturally, I ended up on Neoseeker
EricF: That sounds very similar to how I got on Neo too.

Where did the whole idea of Pablo2k6 (one of your previous usernames for those you do not know) come from?
Paul: Well, when I first went to high school (high school FTW ) my nickname was Pablo because I was good at Spanish (see the connection)

And it was 2006 when I joined and it was just the thing to do at the time. 2k6

    No interesting story behind it
EricF: Interesting enough for me.

I must say, you had me believing your name was actually Pablo at the time. When was it that you revealed your name was Paul, and not Pablo?
Paul: Well, I did say I was a Spanish immigrant because I was an immature little shit.

I guess it was at the point when I though: Why the hell am I lying to these people about my real name? Just told everyone I wasn't Spanish before spamming that night and getting perma'd . Al-right! giggity
EricF: Wow, these are interesting stories.

So, onto your permanent ban. How did you get yourself back onto Neoseeker? Did you do a real immigrant job and illegally come on to expect no one to notice, or did they decide to let you off?
    Paul:
EricF: Haha, okay we'll go off that topic then. Whatever you're comfortable with.

Are you still as interested in PES as you once were when you joined Neoseeker?
Paul: TBH, it's shite now isn't it?

I loved all of the PES games up until this year's. I actually enjoyed PES2008 more because fast players could actually beat their defender. You haven't played the new one have you?

    Lucky bastard
EricF: Haha I gave it a go a few times on my uncle's PS3, but yeah, like yourself, I wasn't highly impressed.

So PES2008? Your favourite of the PES series?
Paul: Nah, probably PES6 I was just comparing 08 to 09.

I've officially converted to FIFA now. Shame looking back really
EricF: Shame on you Paul, shame on you. *mentions nothing about liking Fifa 09*

What has it been that's drifted you from liking PES, to liking Fifa more?
Paul: I could list 250 things but I'll keep it simple.

    Graphics, gameplay, modes, online.

It's a shame as in the past PES had destroyed FIFA in these departments. Shame on Seabass tbh
EricF: Yeah I agree. PES is gonna have to really impress us this year as it's back to basics it seems.

A little more about Neoseeker, where do you feel most comfortable posting right now? What forums have you enjoyed visiting in the past and present?
Paul: Hmm, well it was the FIFA09 forum up until a month or so ago. I've been posted in the PES forums a fair bit recently, but moreso in the Modern Warfare/Modern Warfare 2 forums, as well as FM Social. FIFA10 will be bustling soon though, so I'll hop back over there soon
EricF: Ah I see. Well I hope you can still gel to the PES2010 forums when the game releases, even if again the games don't impress you too much.

From your time joining Neoseeker, have you found anything has changed your views about the site? Do you still enjoy it as you once did?
Paul: I enjoy it more as I can actually say something now, without a big load of shit resulting in what I say.

Except from Pompey Fan of course
EricF: I suppose your respect has been gained from when you first joined. Which is a good thing tbh.

When you were on your Pablo2k6 account, did anybody give you a hard time on the site?
    Paul: Tez and Jonaldinho2004.
I can see why Tez did as I was such a pain to him and was always posting shit, and I respect him for not just banning me from the Football forum.
Jonaldinho was just a plain dick. Didn't like it at all if you mentioned his Villa in a bad light. Complete and utter knob

We gave that mikeharveyafc guy a hard time back in the day, didn't we? Wonder what happened to him...?
EricF: Yeah, I can agree with you on Jon. He gave me a hard time too. *sobs*

We seemed to give Mike a hard time I agree, and I apologise to you Mikey as you're awesome and I love you. <3

Looking back at when you and him didn't get on very often, did you ever think one day you two could get along and be good friends?
Paul: No. He was teh nub.

Tbh I was always thought I was the reason we never got along because I was just determined to be a pain to everybody. Sorry Mikey <3

But I also made you. And don't you forget
EricF: Pfft, I created myself! [/dodgeball]

Just a quick question about your life. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? What are your job ambitions for the future?
Paul: I see myself dead in 5 years...

Dead in the middle of another economical crisis!

I wanna be a teacher, no point in having too high standards is there. I hate interviews to be honest.
EricF: Don't worry. No need to feel pressured here, I'm your homie.

I'll ask you more questions you are comfortable with. What would you like me to discuss with you?
Paul: Well - it's my birthday next Sunday. You can wish me happy birthday on the day

    Anyway, ask me anything!

Did you know about my injury?
EricF: Aw, happy (early notice) birthday man!

I can't say I knew about your injury, but I'd appreciate it if you enlightened me.
    Paul: It's not very enlightening

I broke my leg in three places playing for Liverpool academy. I'm sure I've told you about this before.

    Or maybe it was Dave

    Stop skipping through your songs!
EricF: It could have been Dave. That's tragic man! Sorry to hear about your injury. How long ago did this happen? And how serious is it, will you recover and be back fit?

Also, I'm trying to find music for my mood.
Paul: It was when I was 11. Three years after I joined the Academy. A few weeks earlier I scored a hattrick against United.
For a left back it was phenomenal

Listening to Crazy Rap here, then Firefly by Breaking Benjamin
EricF: Ah, I'm not sure if you ever told me this story before, but I feel a bit heart-broken that you haven't. </3

Good to hear you hit the academy. How has football been since your injury? Have you gotten back into it?
Paul: I play around with my mates on Saturdays and play for a team on Sunday mornings. I'm not as fast I used to be. God I was lightning.

It's not bad though, we got to a cup final last September, on Mike's birthday
EricF: Good that things have still had some progress pal. Things could have been a lot worse but luckily they weren't.

You still enjoying the game as much as you once did when you were younger? Still got the football flame?
Paul: Oh yeah. Back when I was younger I was rather selfish and often got myself subbed early or wasted good chances, but these days I'll play the ball about and I know my role better. I get back alot now, even though I'm playing as a left winger
EricF: Ah, a left winger now? What an awesome position! Nothing to do with the fact that I play there or anything. <_>

Good to hear you're still enjoying the game. As I know you're a 'pool fan like myself. Do you get to many games living in Liverpool?
Paul: Last game I was at was Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield. I trekked down to the Emirates for the 1-1 draw in December. Never saw Mike though

We promised to be on the lookout for each other
EricF: Unfortunate that you didn't get to see Mikey, but good that you've been to two good games.

How was the atmosphere at the Emirates compared to Anfield?
Paul: It's a bigger stadium, so naturally it's louder, and I think the Arsenal fans are as passionate as us, except we put a lot more passion into our singing, as every person in the Kop will bust a lung to let the players to know they're behind him. It's not the same anywhere, except maybe the Britannia
EricF: I agree that both Arsenal, and Liverpool fans show a lot of passion when they're supporting their sides.

Are you expecting to be getting to many games in the upcoming season?
Paul: Hmm I'll go to a few small games ie the Burnley game(s), if I can get tickets to Turf Moor, been there once, didn't end well, thanks Traore

Ill try a United match also, home or away. Maybe a derby
EricF: Good to hear you've got some choices picked out. I'd love to go over and see a game. Was amazing when I last seen them even though we were beaten by Birmingham.

So Paul, the all important question. I know you've talked about Fifa 2010, but will you be purchasing PES2010 this year?
Paul: Depends on the demo mate. If its good and other things have improved then sure, I'll get it and maybe enjoy it. It'll take alot to beat FIFA, but FIFA overtook PES because KONAMI rested on their laurels, maybe EA will do that. Here's hoping not
EricF: Good man. Giving it a shot is the main thing. Hopefully it's good so we can see you, and many more around the forum next year. Konami need to make an all-important step up.

How much time have you given PES2009 this year, compared to PES2008, or maybe even PES6?
Paul: Compared to 08 and PES6, about ten months less of my life. I kept it for two months before I realised it was utterly shit. I actually lost PES6 in about June 2007, so I had nothing for four months

But I got an XBOX the same month
EricF: Don't worry, I'll ship over my copy of PES6 to you if you like.

It really shows right there how much of a step down PES took this year, and how much it needs to improve again.

I think we'll wrap up this interview shortly, but first, is there anybody you would like to mention in here? Anything you would like to discuss before we hit the nail on the head?
Paul: I want the XBOX one!
It needs to improve 200/300% for me to buy it now.

I wanna mention Mike, Zack, Pompey Fan(I just had to), Gunner4eva126, he's a very skilled GFX maker and Chelskiman for doing such a good job with the PES forum. And you of course

I just read the Meatball part of Lone's interview. I remember him, he started up a Create my Face thread. Made me lol
EricF: Cheers for the shoutout. I'm sure the others will also be thankful.

Meatball is a bigger legend than Jesus to those of the PES forums!

Thank you for your time Paul. This shall come as an interesting to the other forum members. You enjoy the remainder of your night babes! <3
Paul: I gotta shower. I'll enjoy that. Thanks for the interview! Second FTW!

Ill speak to you in 15
The interview was disclosed at 22:50, with no delays or connection problem.

----------

That was a good and long interview I must say. Should come as a good read to you all. Two interviews in two days. Not bad at all.

Thanks for the many shoutouts, Paul. It's funny to read about the old times on here for mikeharveyafc. It's nearlly 3 years ago and so much has changed. Seriously, it's scary. I hope you like PES2010 too, as I hope you can stick around more on next years forum.

But I loved this interview as I knew I would. Great job, guys.

Interesting read. I didn't know too much about Paul except for his nooby Pablo days (), but he seems to have matured a lot, which is always pleasing to see

Also, two shoutouts in two interviews, you guys are just too sweet to me
