They are both by Blizzard and they both have Paladin's. Other then that they are two separate and unique games with different lore and stories. Imo Diablo is a much better series as it does not require the assistance of others to play, yet the experience is enriched by running it with others.

Two very different games. You really can't properly compare them, especially considering that WoW is a Pay-To-Play game and D3 isn't, nor is D3 even out yet. So we'd have to compare WoW to D2, which would be even more warped.
But hey, D3's gunna be free (most likely), so play both! ;]

Well, for one thing, WOW is based on the Warcraft series.

quote shadow229 I've recently quit wow due to boredom, I'll definatly buy D3 as I loved D2, but personally they both have their own flaws and what not so it's hard to say which is better than the other. imo, both are epicly awesome. ------------------- XBL: MR II DPC

Hmm through the creation of D3 there has always been talks of Blizzard taking too much from WOW and putting it in D3. The main point of the matter I think is that WOW is a great game, D1 and D2 were great games, and D3 is going to be just as good. Who cares if they borrow a few things from the past that their company created, you use what works.
But personally I'm all D3. I could never get into WOW as hard as I tried. ------------------- ![]()

A lot of the WoW influence that was being bickered over has seemingly been reduced, or at least altered in a matter of compensation. They did suggest floating numbers (ie. damage counters of individual attacks over monsters head, etc.) and were supposedly going to run with it, but I haven't seen it in recent demos. Possibly toggled? I think that would be nice. Some people like it, but I prefer less clutter. Anyway;
I think that now that Blizzard has had time to let the game take course and shape, as well as getting some fundamental input from demo users at conventions, I think the game is beginning to feel very much balanced and more so like it's predecessors than like World of Warcraft. Originally they wanted all items - whether potions or platemail - to take up equal space in the inventory, so you'd have the option to carry a set amount of items regardless of their actual size. They've recently gone back to the tetris styled backpack, which I personally prefer. There's apparently options to add more packspace by getting additional packs, something from WoW that I actually welcome. They also show DPS now as opposed to weapon damage and attack speeds such as "slow" and "normal" which I think is probably a better idea. In Diablo there was always the set of statistical influence that you had to actually calculate behind the scenes, and if you didn't know any of that information then you just weren't able to be as objective as some players. I'd rather have the option to see the numbers at face value then to have to know the frame rate of each weapon and it's attack animation to know if I'd be hitting fast enough. So far the changes they've made and are keeping I feel are beneficial and nothing to bitch home about. ------------------- Ron says:

I've tried both (Well Diablo 1+2 ) and i do prefer Diablo at the moment because the storyline is interesting and easy to understand. Plus Diablo 2 has stolen so many hours of my life it must be damn good.
