Weapons of Bioshock 2 |
|
I've been looking around on several sites to learn more about the new weapons in Bioshock 2. But from what I've seen so far, it looks as though the Drill and Rivet Gun are the only available weapons. Sure, plasmids may change in number, but what about guns?
I liked the original Bioshock for all the different combinations you could pull off with different plasmids and weapons. Lowering it to two seems like a horrible idea, in my opinion. Does anyone know wether or not they're keeping old weapons? I havn't seen any sites so far that say otherwise. Surely you can't be limited to only two, right? Oh, and, uh... use this thread to discuss over the new weapons, but not the plasmids, I guess. ------------------- "When I put you down, you STAY down."

From what I've heard, the drill is like the wrench, and the rivet gun is like the pistol. You can get different ammo types for the rivet gun, and you will get other guns as well.

I'm kind of hoping that Bioshock 2 has the reverse of the orignal, in other words as you go through the game, you get more and more human and end up as not very Big daddy at all. Just a fast, strong, plasmid loaded human.

Yeah, I just thought after assuming the form of a Daddy at the end of the last one, it might fit 2K's sense of irony to have the original Big Daddy get his humanity back at the end of this one.

As long as there is a nice variety I'll be happy. I only used the wrench in the origanal. Plasmids are the main things.

There are different barrel and ammo types for the rivet gun, for example a shotgun type barrel and a magnum type barrel with appropriate ammos. Though I'll miss how most of the guns looked like they were knocked together with bits and pieces from a shed like in the first game

The original shotgun has gold inlay, how the hell does that look like it was run up in a shed? ------------------- ![]()

Lol, I think he means when you upgrade them the way they look. Yes I will miss that two but oh well if this is anything like system shock 2 you won't be bothered.

Though the ideas from above are all great, I can hardly wait to use the Rivet Gun and the Drill on Splicers. The Drill looks like it can be pretty brutal, and it will bring joy to my heart every time I hear the words Mr. Bubbles.

quote Curt ConnorsActually, he's referring specifically to the Grenade Launcher and the Chemical Thrower. Those are the only two weapons that had a cobbled-together look. Everything else was about what you'd expect to see with that weapon if you were to look at it in, say, a weapon shop. Except the Wrench and Camera, but only because you wouldn't neccesarily find them in a weapon shop. quote Lord AwesomeI have to agree with this point. I hope they haven't gotten rid of that. There's just something about a brutal killing machine being referred to as 'Mr. Bubbles'. -------------------

I'm hoping for more cutesy nicknames to go along with Mr Bubbles
It's going to be weird having a little sister chattering away into my ear as I stomp around Rapture butchering Slicers. Combat and weapons interview. Rocket spears, cool This message was edited by Curt Connors on Nov 01 2009. ------------------- ![]()
