Son of a bitch!

I have mixed feelings on this. If they've delayed it because they don't feel the story is good enough and have some epic changes in mind that need to be implemented then that's good; I don't mind that at all.

When does any game ever get released on time? Just like every other game, this time is going to be used to improve the game. I'd rather wait another 6 months than waste my money on a disappointing game.

Many games are released on time. At least, for every studio EXCEPT Take Two Interactive. I mean, Red Dead Redemption was just pushed back as well. Anytime Take Two announces a release date from now on, I'm going to be extremely skeptical.

On the bright side, this holiday season is going to be packed with quality titles (just like the last couple of years). In terms of market share, it makes sense for the game to be pushed into the first part of 2010. I just think October/November is an excellent time to release a game like Bioshock. I'm not really feeling the eerie atmosphere and shock gameplay in February, to be honest.

First they drag another development company on board, and now they delay it?

I'm starting to think this game sucks. Expectations just dropped down the drain. But, that's not to say it WILL suck. I'm just saying, it probably sucks NOW.

Delays mean one of two things; they skull *bleep*ed the original estimate in a major way or they're planning on adding more and making the game better.

And how is another viewpoint a bad thing? Surely having another company to review the game and bounce ideas and whatnot is a good thing

They already had 3 companies on-board. Adding another AND delaying it? Tsk, tsk...

Damn...that's rough. Well at least Uncharted 2 is going to be delayed. Lets hope that this delay won't be too far away.

That's the point though, it's not adding another per se. The game has been in development for so long that unless if they rip it apart and start from the beginning (which would be ridiculous) this new dev they've brought in can't do much to change it can they? So they're just their for having another opinion/ You need to remember that two of the devs already involved are only involved in the online side, so so far the offline side has only been 2K and no-one else, meaning they aren't bringing in a fourth, they're just bringing in a second for the offline aspect. Neither dev group has any major affect on the aspect they aren't working on (the online or offline) so it's not four cluster*bleep*ing the whole game it's just two pairs working seperately.

And the delay is a good thing to be honest. Would you want a delayed game which turns out mind-blowing or a rushed game which floats around average?

Anyways, bad news. I'm hoping this delay will help to make it a great game, but delays are always buzzkills. Why not make a release date farther back then bring it up if the game is done earlier? That would keep people a lot happier.

But oh well. Plenty of games are coming out this year to keep me busy.

The last comment is a pure hypothetical based on what is the most likely reason they've brought in another dev. Everything else in the comment stands. Stop being obnoxious.
