Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

Do you think it lived up to its name? Did it suit the hype well? Was it a complete success or a total overrated game? Please explain your answer don't just post: "Yes"

Well firstly in my opinion I think the online lived up to its expectation, or maybe almost did but I am sure it would have exceeded them if there were no problems regarding connections and glitches and such. It's very fun and well setup by HVS, and I commend them for that. The friends/regional/world wide setup is good and I <3 the Team Reaper/ Team Objective/ FFA setup as it adds a lot of variety to the game.
As for the campaign I'd say it's so-so, but not quite up to what I expected. It seems a little too much shoot 'em up then a campaign that takes careful thought and strategy as the game kind of set itself up to be. But there are some good points. Like the AI. As you start to play on higher difficulties it is actually amazing to watch how some of the aliens act. For example, try to lock on to one drone/guard. Just keep watching it and it's behavior. It is then you'll realize how well the AI was done for the game.

Well that's my opinion. What's yours?

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

Very much yes. Unlike some of the lame reviews I've heard, I loved the single player and I plan on playing through it a third time on Elevated difficulty when I get the chance.

Multiplayer is awesome and all so it definitely lived up to expectations. Its just very very addicting, I find myself comparing this game's multiplayer to Halo Combat Evolved quite a lot since it's hooking me in the same way (which had me playing for years).

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

Yes, this game has lived up to my expectations. The single player mode is my definite favorite of the game, as I love alien-conspiracy stuff, cliched or not. The controls are 100% superb and the graphics blow me away tbh.
Only grip I have with the single player mode is the fact that everything feels closed in and not "open".

Multiplayer mode, I'd say, is addictingly fun. However, getting to that fun is 100% pain the ass for me.

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

Since I did not read into it and all of my knowledge prior to the game was that it was supposed to be the bets shooter on the Wii; yes it did live up to my expectations haha.
It's pretty good IMO but is somewhat basic. But what I like is that it is fun like the original Halo(and even 2) was and yet it doesn't bombard you with useless shit like Halo 3 which is what ruined that game for me(equipment and unneeded weapons + bad maps = teh suxxors).

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

I think the game is preety good except for a few things.

1.When you reload the background gets all blury
2.I dont know why but you seem very small, or the ceilings are 2 tall
3.Whenever I walk, i seem to sway back and forth side to side.

You can actually turn off the reload blur. And the third one would have to do something with your Wii. And the 2nd one; that's just big buildings not really a problem.

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

Even though I'm not a fan of reload blur I haven't turned it off because I'm used to it from other games I've played. I guess it's supposed to make the graphics look nicer.

From gameplay vids, the enviornments seem too dark in the sense that i cant see a thing on a non hd television. So thats a big no no for me.

They're not too bad on an SDTV but that's why you can turn the brightness up. I haven't tried it on my HDTV yet since that is in my bedroom and my brothers like to play me in Mario Kart a lot so I keep it in our basement.

...

You don't have the game and you're telling ones that do have it that the brightness is an issue? o_0

Wow, and as Mr. Potsmoker here stated, that's why one of the in game options allows you to change the brightness. I personally prefer to have my brightness down in order to complete that "What's around the corner..." feel.

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

LoL but one of the funniest options is "Player Speed". Like seriously who gets to choose how fast you run and leaves it at 85 =P. I used to keep it at 100 but I put it back to default because it seems to be more fun when you can't sprint permanently while shooting.

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

I never changed the running speed but was curious, does it change it for when you play online too? If so that's messed up haha.

re: Did this Game Live Up to Your Expectations?

No it doesn't change during online. In Multiplayer, everyone's running speed is locked at 80. That way no one is gonna pwn in ASE Football cause they decided to turn up running speed to 100.

I'm sure hackers have a way to do that though lol.

Why would they settle for hacking their running speed to be 100 when they could hack to be able to FLY!

On topic, I can't really weigh in my decision yet because of my crappy internet issues preventing me from playing online. Unlike GamePro, I would rather not judge a game based on an incomplete perception (burn!). But I will say that, yes, the controls are the real deal. They are INFINITELY better than dual analogue. While the single player mode wasn't the greatest or most revolutionary thing ever, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The guns are all very fun to use and I like how they didn't try to bog the single player down with lots of gameplay gimmicks and just allowed for straight-up run and gun action. But they still have the hidden messages and data disks to find for those interested (like me).
