anyone else...disapointed?

good story, cool guns, cool characters....but the online takes like 20 minutes to join a game, and after a match is over it take quite a while too. Sometimes I can't even play because it takes to long to join a match, I mean COMMON, it is ONLY Nintendo that messes online up, Xbox and PS3 online are great! But the Wii always has to lag or do something so pathetic.

It's not even the online that I'm sad about, I find that the story is WAY to short, it hardly took me 7 hours to beat this game, usually it takes a good 15 hours or more on my first time.

These are the main things that I think make this game really a waste of my money, what do you think of this game?

re: anyone else...disapointed?

Online really doesn't take to long to join a game, longest it's taken me is about 5 minutes at most to join an already started game. Sure it's like 20 seconds to leave after you finish a game, but if you can't take that you have no patience. Perhaps its your connection that causes the problem, I suggest you fix it.

And by 7 hours, have you collected the disks and other secrets that needed collecting? Just wondering.

I'm already at least 5 hours into the story and not very far.

Your right on one thing, 24 is a good show.

re: anyone else...disapointed?

First of all my router is fine, works perfectly for everything else, and I'm not talking about leaving the game -_-"...

And no I haven't collected all the disks and secret shizz, but in different games without finding all the secret crap it takes me longer then this game, I mean there is 9 levels, some of them don't even take that long to beat, I meant beating the campaign by the way, not getting 100%.

And yes 24 is great, so is Inuyasha.

re: anyone else...disapointed?

I actually think kind of the opposite of you
I think the online is great, but campaign mode sucks
  • It takes me 3 minutes to get online
  • 20 seconds to find a game
  • 1 minute to start playing if the match is about to end

  • Then I quit whenever I want, online is the best of the game and Wii IMO

Was. The *bleep*ing anime cut off prematurely. But the manga was pretty great, even though it never really had a plot...

Anyway, it usually takes me only about 10 hours max to beat any campaign for an FPS, especially those with an online mode. The only one I can think of (at least right now) that took me longer than 10 hours to complete was Metroid Prime 3. Then again, it's not fully an FPS, and I was playing it like a completionist.

And as for online, most everyone hear in this forum haven't had the problems you are complaining about. The only real problems we've had are glitches, or not being able to join at all (but after no more than five minutes or so)

Well my router is also great, and I don't think I've ever waited that long for a game.

My neighbour who steals my connection (which I don't really care about) gets poor service and he takes forever to join games and find games to join. Maybe its just your location? I don't really know.

Have yet to finish the Inuyasha Manga, but the anime was really good, though there's little hope now of them finishing it.

20 Minutes? I'm pretty sure it only takes like 2-3 Minutes.

And the story. The game is long if you go back and find Messages/Disks.And you can also raise the difficulty setting, ya know.

    re: anyone else...disapointed?

I'm diasapointed with online in this game too...
    1. The lack of a party system. I cannot tell you how much I just gave up and did something else when trying to "join" a friend while he is in public. The idea of a party system is NOTHING new, hell, even the Wii version of CoD5 has one. Voice chat or not, the exclusion of a party system to make joining online matches easier is a 100% *bleep* mistake on HVS's part.
    1. Too much like Halo. Ha ha, hold your horses now and hear me out. What I mean by that is that online FEELS and PLAYS too much like Halo. You have the, once again, 100% *bleep* ability to bunny hop and the style of gameplay online just screams "HALO IS TEH BESTOR ONLINE GAME HUR HUR" to me. Granted, Halo is a good online game, but its not the best by ANY means, and I believe that's where HVS has gone wrong online. I mean seriously, bunny hopping? No srpint? Arena-like maps where there's hardly anywhere to hide? What the *bleep* HVS? Its as if they drew a little TOO much inspiration from Halo's online mode and not enough from other great, and better IMO, online games.
    1. No game options for private matches. Why oh why can we not change the respawn times, match times, run speed, and all the other typical options in private matches? It all feels so constrained, like online play is meant for a punishment for those who enjoyed the single player campaign.
Well, yeah, to me multiplayer lacks that "Oh man, that's pretty kickass HVS" feel and it's riddled with easy to avoid mistakes. Many of times I find myself asking "So I can't exit this online match until the game starts because..." or "Shouldn't I be able to change my options BEFORE I get into the match defenseless?". Of course, I find multiplayer highly addicting and fun, but smetimes it frustrates the hell outta me.

To each his own, I suppose

    re: anyone else...disapointed?

Well, hopefully the lack of changing match rules online, or the wide-open maps will be amended in the next Conduit. I mean, there's only so much you can ask from a developer making this game without a publisher from the get-go. I'm surprised that they made a successful game at all, to be honest. To ask for perfection seems a bit much, don't you think?

Well I do think, but I half-way agree with ya'. Yes, this game was supposed to be their big-hit and yes, of course, there would be some faults. But man, to me, having an online party system is just-- DUH! Ya' know? Ha ha.

I just can't comprehend that at all in all honesty.

    re: anyone else...disapointed?

I'm actually the opposite of dissapointed; I'm surprised. I expected the online in this game to be fun but have tons of connection problems. For me, however, I can join a game in under 3 minutes and have no lag/connection issues.

Honestly, people need to stop saying "ZOMG THE GAME SUX CONDUIT IS SHIT MULTIPLAYER CAUSE I CANT CONNECT" Here me out people:

IF YOU CANT CONNECT TO A SINGLE GAME, AND OTHER PEOPLE CAN, THAN IT IS YOUR CONNECTION. Thats it. Not the games fault unless nearly everyone is having trouble with it (remember Brawl?).

Therefor, to those saying the multiplayer was a "huge let down" when their connection has stopped them from even giving the multiplayer a chance, go play it at a friends house or stop complaining.

    re: anyone else...disapointed?

My biggest disappointment with the game is the fact that it is an FPS, and didn't change my feelings towards FPS games.

Don't get me wrong, this is still a great game, and there are plenty of good FPS's out there. But I'm just not a fan of the genre, and was hoping that the Conduit and its control scheme would be able to show me what everyone else loves about this type of game so much.

    re: anyone else...disapointed?

Those issues with joining games used to always happen to me. Have you put your Wii in the router's DMZ? Cause that fixed my problem and I now always successfully get into matches in about 3 minutes tops. Of course, I still can't play do to connection speed, but that's another issue... Also, it might pay to check your connection speed, cause that could be causing issues to.

I think the campaign is boring as ever and the online is good, but just lags and has glitches. I can connect to games fine but a lot of times it will be a game in progress and I get that glitch where I can't do anything. Check your NAT for your Wii if you can't even connect for 20 minutes.
Hey Mik, if you want you can play Brawl now with no problems as I've been playing it the past couple of days online as play with anyone. Maybe Nintendo has extremely tiny servers for that game lol.
