Who here thinks the pistol is overpowered? It's longer ranged than the shotty or MP5, it's accurate, it's very powerful, it has 18 rounds in a clip (which, I believe, is actually impossible for a .45, but I digress), and it has a rapid rate of fire (semi-auto). I notice that the people who have the highest scores in FFA use pitols to the point of exclusivity...


And, since Jack Bauer almost always uses pistols only, there must be something to it.

The USP .45 is a real world weapon. Each mag it contains had 18 rounds and it fires .45 caliber projectiles. In other words, its *bleep*ing powerful and very awesome with its very laugh ammunition capacity. Is it a misplaced weapon amongst other one-hit-kill, CQB combat weapons? Hell no.

Just because you pwned with a weapon, it doesn't mean its overpowered. It means that either you're underpowered as a player, or that a lot of people are learning how kickass the USP .45 is.

It is not cheap or overpowered at all. If you look at the actual damage level, the shots are weaker than that of a midranged shot gun. The whole point of the pistol is that it can pull off headshots very well. Couple this with the fact that it is very accurate and, well, you got yourself a nasty little hand held. If you are dieing quickly from a pistol it is most likely because the person is scoring critical shots on you while you turn around with 1/2 your health gone.

The same thing can be said about other guns though. A Warp Pistol or Strike Rifle will usually out match any USP45 in a mid ranged firefight simply because pulling off a head shot at that range is not practical, and it is pretty much the only advantage the USP45 has over it's semiautomatic brothers. What will determine how much the pistol "rapes" in a match is really what map you are playing and whether or not you can keep your distance (unless you have a SPAS or SMAW).

t think the pistol is awesome, but i think people use it over the machine gun because it freakin blows. the machine gun is so inaccurate that it dosent really fit into this particular game.

The MP5KA4 is a close ranged spread weapon that is mainly for, well, spread fire. If you try to use it in bursts or semi automatic at far range than of course it will be inaccurate and weak. Use it on a close ranged opponent and you'll be able to put forth a stream of led that can just tear through the opponent's health in an instant.

I use the pistol at long range, then swith to my primary to get in a nice kill. Or, I use the pistol at short range, and as I close in, I get ready for a quick melee The pistol, itself, doesn't do high damage unless aimed for the face. When somebody uses a pistol like this one, in the game, they tend to aim for the head. The same amount of time can be used if you repeatedly shoot them in the chest, but may waste a little bit more ammo. In a rush, it's a good idea. Also, what's FFA?

Anyway, one thing I like about the .45 is it's ability to shoot heads off easily in single player...on aliens. I know every gun can do that, but it just feels so much more satisfying with the USP.

I'm going to guess that the HVS50 is just a .50 Caliber version of the USP45? That being said, you might as well call that gun the HAND CANNON because that's about how powerful one would be in real life.
