Alright, I'm giving an informative speech on Video Game Violence tomorrow in my college speech class. Problem is, I've procrastinated writing the speech for way too long of a time. Now, I've gotten writers block.

As you can see from my outline, I've gotten an amounts worth written already. Thought, the amount that I have written isn't the greatest. So, my question is, where can I improve on what I've already wrote, and what else can I add? Where else could I go on some of the topics?

The speech needs to be between 4-6 minutes in length. So, help out a friend?

Looks like you've still got a few points to really flesh out to begin with. Your physiological (which I think should be psychological) section is virtually empty, and you're still missing the government problems in the US.

To be honest, the most important thing to do whenever you're delivering an argumentative speech is to reinforce your points time and time again. Unlike in a written text where someone can go through at their own pace, anyone listening only has one chance to hear what you say, so if you're going to make full effect of it you need to emphasise your points a couple of times just in case they missed it or didn't understand it earlier. Try to vary it up though, so that your speech isn't just you saying the same thing over and over again.

I reckon that a couple of case study like examples might work well in here, as they provide supporting evidence for your argument and the opportunity for you to repeat your point again in a different way so the speech doesn't get monotonous. I remember one story, for example, of a man who led police on a high speed car chase (I think in the US) because he thought he could outrun them and get away like he could in the GTA games. I imagine you could find some articles online for a more detailed account, and probably another couple of stories too along similar lines, which could all slot nicely into the speech to help plug a few gaps and provide some decent evidence to show that this kind of video game induced violence/crime etc... does actually occur.

Yeah, I definitely am going to look up some sources and reference to them.

I'm not delivering this as an argumentative speech, it's an informative speech. I need to inform my class about video game violence, its affects, whats being done, etc etc etc.

Fair enough. Same principle still applies though as you're still trying to get a point across. The repetition of your points is an important thing to do when delivering an oral presentation, if nothing more than because people could miss what you say the first time or simply not understand exactly what it is you're trying to say.

Whenever I'm giving an informative or argumentative speech, I tend to try and introduce my points, explain their relevance, what they mean etc.., bring in an example or two and then reiterate what my original point was and how everything I've just said explains it. It's pretty standard, but it's effective.

Beyond that, I think you would being doing a disservice to the topic if you didn't admit that violent media, including games increases aggression in children and adolescents. This absolutely needs to be addressed head on. Violent media does increase aggression, its a fact that we gamers have to address. Ignoring it or denying it, is going to hurt our {read: your} credibility.
