Gameplay and Creation Explained |
|
Ok from all the videos I have been browsing over I thought I would type out what I know about the title which could cover a lot of initial questions new people to the game will be asking.
Characters are designed through a number of processes. Firstly you choose your origin from either Magic, Meta or Tech which will determine the style of your character. For instance expect a tech character to be a cyborg or robot and a magic character to be a demon or warlock of sorts. From that stage you go on to select your powers, which haven't yet been listed but hopefully the game will cover every power that is conventional the comic book world. After selecting your power you will then need to choose the source of the power. Green Arrow inherits his powers from a bow and Green Lantern from a ring, players will also have to attatch their powers to certain parts of their bodies, for instance eye lasers. There will also be a movement power available too, you can either assign flight, super speed or acrobatics to your chosen character. The next stage in the process is obviously character design, which there seems to be a variation of (one video depicting a clown-like character). The will likely be followed by the naming of your hero/villain. The gameplay itself is completely action based, no need to click and wait in pretty much every other MMO out there. Instead buttons on a controller will perform kicks, punches and powers like in an action game such as X-Men Legends or similar games. One focus of the game is that you can utilise pretty much any obstacles laying around from mailboxes to school buses, depending the limitation of strength allocated to the character (very nimble characters wont be able to lift huge objects). With these obstacles you can either throw them or strike a target with them to inflict damage. Another feature is the Knock Out phase. Instead of dying in conventional MMOs and having to either go back to a major city or walk back to your corpse in ghost form, you will be knocked unconscious where allies can help you up or clear enemies away, creating a safe area to get back up and fight. Classes wont be an issue anymore as described in the videos also. During missions an on-screen guide will indicate which style of play you will need to adopt during certain stages of the mission, usually either offensive or defensive roles. I presume healing will be a superpower for those worrying that a priest class wont be up for grabs. ------------------- ![]() | |
