What exactly do dual core fixes FIX?
I've only noticed one problem with my dual core. Sometimes while just running windows XP, I notice that the mouse cursor is moving across the screen in jerks. It moves, stops, then moves again. It's weird. Putting the pc into standby mode and starting up again fixes it immediately. Is this anything to do with the dual cores? -------------------

quote DGIf you have a wireless mouse I'd be willing to bet that it was your mouse and not the CPU. If not, then it may be the CPU. The fix I believe was primarily targeted to correct some video performance issues that were caused from clashing instruction sets between the Operating System and the CPU. ------------------- Union

Nope, I have an optical USB corded mouse.
Video performance? Hmm. Oh well, no point in worrying if I've not had a problem so far, I suppose. -------------------

From what I can tell, not a lot of people can see a performance gain so it would seem to be hit-n-miss at best. Some have even spec'd a performance decrease. So basically, if it's not broken, don't fix it
