What genre?

This game is listed under RPG technically, but in trailers and reviews, it sounds like it's more like an RTS because you hover above your character(s) and give them orders and watch them do it, rather than doing the fighting yourself...
Yes/No?

You can switch between any character in you current party and control that character individually while an AI based on selected tactics controls the other three. After selecting a teammate, you use a menu system (which pauses the game) to select their next move.
You may also map moves to the B, Y, & X buttons (, , & on PS3).

re: What genre?

I believe that function was removed from the console versions, but as far as I know it is present in the PC version.

re: What genre?

Ok, so my question is, do you control the characters like you would in FO3/Elder Scrolls: Oblivion?
Or is it still kind of an auto-pilot thing? I'm sorry to keep asking, but it still isn't making sense to me.

re: What genre?

You set up 'tactics' for your allies. This means you set a specific action for them to do upon a specific circumstance.

i.e.
Self - Health <25% -> Use Strongest Health Potion
if the health is above 25%, it will move to the next tactic
Self - Attacked by ranged enemy - Switch to ranged weapon

It is circumstance based. If they are out of mana/talent juice (forgot the name), they will just melee. You control your character/whichever character you are controlling at the moment. Some spells/talents may 'pause' the game to highlight the direction of your next attack if multiple enemies/allies can be effected.

re: What genre?

It's like Fable but with a ton of added complexity.

But the gameplay is related to fable more than Oblivion and Fallout.

I'd say it's works more like KOTOR meets Neverwinter Nights.
