Can't say I agree that survival-horrors are better from a birds-eye view. In fact, there are very few survival-horror games that view from that angle because it doesn't put you in the actual action.
(and PE2's camera style were directly ripped from Resident Evil's fixed camera). -------------------

quote pyramidreaperShe is fat in PE2 when compared to when she was in PE1. That's fact. And where did it says that it is best to wear shorts in the desert? What? Just cos Lara Croft runs around in a short, it could look cool on a FBI agent too? Shorts do not give the adequate protection needed in a combat situation. Plus, I do believe that FBI have standard dress codes. And No, PE camera angle is not a rip off of RE series. For one thing, a lot of games which are survival horror have similar camera angle.

re: Parasite Eve: Third Birthday Wish List ~ (What do you want to see in the game?) |
quote gobi1972The main complaint about PE2 was that it was a Resident Evil clone. If you can't see that many aspects of the game (fixed camera angles, controls, themes, etc) were directly ripped off from Resident Evil, then you clearly haven't played early RE games. The similarities aren't even slight- They're near identical. And Resident Evil was the first "true" survival-horror game. (Heck, it was Capcom who coined the genre), so any survival-horror game following that was inspired by RE in some way, including fixed camera angles. Some were just more obvious than others (*cough*PE2*cough). I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I love both the PE and RE series. But the similarities are blatant. -------------------

You know, Resident Evil is not the first game to use view concept you know.
Matter a fact, if you have played Resident Evil 1, you could know that the view in that game was a bird-eye view. It remained the same in Resident Evil 2 and 3. Only Resident Evil 4 uses the type of view where it was strolling along the character (usually over Leon's back ... just as it seems to stuck on Aya's butt). Not sure about RE : Codename Veronica. I think it was using the same view as before too. So, stop saying that PE is a rip-off of RE series cos it is not. Parasite Eve is a game of its own standard, incorporated with many of the elements similar to survival horror games.

Believe what you want.
The early Resident Evil games never employed a birds-eye view camera angle. It was always a fixed camera from various angles. Though the fact that you can't see the blatant camera/gameplay rip-off (despite it being the main complaint about PE2) is just ... bizarre. -------------------

She is fat and you have admitted that you can't argue with that. Let's leave it as that. it's hawt there. If that is so, then why didn't I see Mr. Douglas, Kyle the Donkey, Pierce, No. 9 ... hell ... just about everyone and everything there wearing regular clothes (which includes jeans) and not one seems to be wearing short. Oh ... I know that there was an NMC in the bathroom (ground floor, overlooking the Manager's room where the Bronco Masterkey was) wearing shorts, so I cannot say everyone was wearing regular cloths. Oh ... Flint wasn't wearing anything so I guess he wasn't feeling cold or hot. gobi, are you kidding me? Lmao.. PE2 wasn't a spec ops simulator, it was a rpg-action from Square. are you saying you have an issue with Aya wearing shorts and not with anything else in this game?.. Hey ... I have plenty of things I'm not satisfied with in this game (if compared to with PE1). I just feel that dress code in this game for the main character was one of them. I don't know about you guys but I'm a very particular when comes to details.

quote gobi1972tsk.. NO SHE IS NOT FAT I admitted she was redesigned in the second game, and she 's taller and bigger. she has a fine ass, but it isnt fat. let's leave it at that. quote gobi1972no 9 is irreleavant WTf? because she runs constantly and she gets hawt. and Mr Douglas is an old fart, so he's irrelevant as well. anyway, why not? it's not like she wore a bikini, hmm? her clothing was okay with the weather, and jeanswon't protect you much anyway. quote gobi1972my point was that there're far more overlooked things in this game than Aya's shorts. can I ask you one more thing, goby? why do you always not use quotations?

She is fat ... she is fat ... whahahaha. OK, I had my laugh and we will leave it as that (she is fat).
Who said that No. 9 was irrelevant. If the game had a dress code, I could say that No. 9 is the only one who seems to be dressed in proper manners through the game. Jeans could protect you from things like snake bite, or poison spits or even animal bite, rather than having shorts. Plus, it provides you with some protection from wounds, rather than naked skin. And what are this other things which they have overlooked? Not that they did not ... just curious. Quotations? They are too much work. And the name is G.O.B.I not Goby. Spell properly.

quote gobi1972 from what I remember he was an nmc, wasn't he? I don't think he gives a shit about hawtness or anything like that. quote gobi1972well, that's an attempt at humor I guess. you know I really doubt that would help her here. if anything, it would slow her down and restrict her movements. quote gobi1972gameplay-wise, for starters, the whole combat was unrealistic if you put it that way. btw, why could no 9 kill you with a single strike at the start but you owned him at that house in the desert? I actually meant why do you use [b][/b] tags but don't use quotations?

I simply can not fathom why Aya would wear jeans in a desert town. Not only that, but her design was done to appeal to the male gamers. You can also couple her appearance to the fact that she has unique skills that other normal humans don't have. Why would she have a need to wear protective clothing when she can heal herself with her abilities?

quote Matt AddisonAin't it the truth. The last thing I want to be wearing in 40+ degree celcius heat is jeans. (heck, us Aussies would know, with the Summer weather we have!). It just isn't practical, especially if you're supposed to be working outdoors. The very likely possibility of heatstroke tends to override the less likely possibility of snakebite. -------------------

That's right. Not to mention the restriction in movement, that such attire would create. Aya wouldn't be able to be as agile as she is, plus if she wore jeans there's more material to be ripped, snagged on random bits of debris. It's simply just not practical. I totally agree with her shorts. It's very logical for her to be wearing them.
