The 3rd Birthday Update |
|
A poster on Japanese BBS 2channel has shared a piece of information allegedly in the most recent Famitsu magazine. I've tried to translate it as best I can.
A Kingdom Hearts article had an update concerning The 3rd Birthday. To paraphrase the individual's post (which is, itself, paraphrasing the article), development of The 3rd Birthday is "doing well". An early version is playable and good workmanship has gone into it. If things continue to go well, the game should appear at this year's Tokyo Game Show, in October. Square Enix has kept relatively quiet on the progress of The 3rd Birthday, focusing on their larger titles instead. This is the first proper mention the game this year [size=1][color=#666666]This message was edited by Shuyu on May 22 2009. ------------------- ![]() How to snag a lady: With sleepy drink.

what the *bleep* takes them so long with a PSP game. TGS? that's only in autumn. jesus, SE.. or maybe they 're deliberately doing it.

Well, thanks to Shuyu for the news.
I think they are deliberating doing this just so they could hype ppl up into buying it. Maybe it's their sales tactics, ya know. Throw a bone and hope the players will be on their knees, wagging their tails. Or maybe they have too much projects to do. Like the old saying, ya know - Bite more than ya can chew. They have FF13 and 13 Versus to complete, God-knows how many Crystal series to complete plus Online games update and PSP games as well.

I don't know.. me thinks deliberately. this project started almost a year ago (at least that's when they've announced this game is in development for PSP). it shouldn't take more than a year to make a PSP game anyway, besides Hexadrive are helping them ffs.
they probably don't want to release it on UMD, with the rumored PSP 1.5 later this year..

I think it is deliberate too. If a new PSP version comes out, it could mean that they could strike a deal with SONY and release it (with better features) on the new PSP so the gamers could wanna buy it. Good business mah.

-Third Birthday can be played through the prologue
This means wat? That they gonna release a Demo version or something? Well, Neoseeker does seems to be a little quiet. I should know cos I have been here since 2001 (one of my first forums when I ventured into the Net). This cos last time, there were plenty of PS1 games so they are always so active. Nowadays, it is so quiet.

I believe they said that an early version of the game was running on their systems and the prologue is currently in a playable state.

Based on what's been said, probably a bit, but also with gameplay elements. Just don't know at this point in time, since Square Enix are mean. How dare they focus on their more profitable games-- ... I hate business.

So it's a demo version, right?
Well, they have to focus on more "profitable" games cos - well, it's business, bub. Otherwise, SQUARE gonna sink like a rock. Hmmm ... Ya guys think that maybe they are reading our comments here in Neoseeker?

must be a demo only, or perhaps a test game

re: The 3rd Birthday Update |
quotewell, if it's playable through prologue, then you could say it's a first playable demo right? why not show it on E3 then.. really, me thinks they want to wait until the new PSP without UMD drive.

Rather, a test version of the game is currently playable up through the prologue section of the game, then after that there's still a fair bit of work to be done.
