Your thoughts on Tenchu 4 going to Wii |
|
What do think about Aquire putting Tenchu 4 on the Wii?
Like or Dislike? Will bringing the franchise to a much broader audience give Tenchu a boost in popularity? Do you think they will make interesting use of the controls? These just some things you can bring up in this thread. This message was edited by Order66 on Sep 03 2008.

You already know my opinion on it's transfer. They should have at least stayed with the console/company that made them famous (Sony), and made for PS3. Even better they could have made the game for PS3, Xbox360 and a specially made version for Wii.
Who knows what the controls are going to end up like? They could cause everyone to be thugs, or they could flow like a petal in a warm summers breeze. ------------------- "I would Happily accept the title of Fool, if it means that I can save even one life from your Blood-Drenched Dream." - Rikimaru, Tenchu: Birth of the Assassins

The *idea* for it is awesome. I would love to sneak up behind someone, grab them, and actually slice their neck with the wii-mote instead of leaving it to a cut scene.

im happy that its going to the Wii.....if Tenchu was released multi-platform they would have messed it up for the Wii (the Wii would have gotten the worst out of the 3). This time they can focus entirely on the Wii and its mechanics...cant wait!!!!

Yes indeed games exclusively developed for wii usually turn out better. There are some exceptions though... *cough* SoulCalibur Legends *cough*
But there is one multiplatform wii version I recommend: Star Wars TFU. It actually impressed me with the controls. They were highly immersive. Also the graphics aren't bad for last gen. From what I've seen alot of the gameplay and items in Tenchu 4 are developed around the wii and they look pretty good. This message was edited by Order66 on Sep 23 2008.

that's definitely true about Star War: TFU (I have it also), but that is only naming one or a few. Don't get me wrong I am very happy that developers are taking a franchise such as Tenchu and bringing it exclusively to the Wii. It goes to show that they have faith in the "little white box" and I (we) would like to see more 3rd party games come out for the Wii...one little tidbit Order66, go and get a copy of No More Heroes if you don't already have it...

I like the idea of it going to the wii, from what I've seen they still use the cut-scene kills but give you options by shaking either nunchuck or wii-mote. Also they show that you dont bring your own sword to the mission, rather you steal weapons from your kills or as shown in the trailers, use the guy's weapon on him.
In all fairness though, From Software, which I believe made the past Tenchu games, perhaps this one too, are working on a game called Ninja Blade for the 360 along with the creator of Ninja Gaiden, whos name escapes me at the moment. -------------------

Interesting. Hopefully it will be ported to the PS3 as well.

Microsoft has a hand in developement, Tomonobu Itagaki was hired by him and he's helping lead the devs on Ninja Blade. Not a real directors spot until he decides to make something with Microsoft Studios, but a helping hand nonetheless.

quote Xeros_the_SlayerActually From Software only developed Tenchu Dark Secret and published every game from Wrath of Heaven on. K2 LLC were the developers of those games. The first two games were developed by Acquire(Who are returning to make Art of the Ninja) and published by Activision. And welcome to the forum Xeros! Great to see a new face around here.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me, good to know who's working on what.
And thanks good to be here, after finding out about Monster Hunter I decided to look into more games coming to the wii, I'm quite against buying a console for one game and low and behold Tenchu and No More Heroes 2. I've played No More Heroes and now I'm quite eager to play the next. As per my view of any game going on any console, it doesnt matter to me which console it goes on so long as its done well and in the case of a port, stays true to the feel of the original games. Like Monster Hunter Tri. -------------------

Yes I agree there's nothing wrong with taking it to a new system as long as it is done right. Although this game isn't really staying true to the old games(but it's back to its original idea of being a ninja simulation) but I think most of the changes are for the better.
