So... is Onikage going to make another one of his grand returns in Tenchu4? I sure hope so!

Has anyone seen him in a picture or video/trailor yet?

I really do hope that the developers don't make the game as though WoH never happened.

I also hope he makes a return and how can rikimaru be in a game without him?

Well since the game is called Tenchu 4 I assume WoH was tenchu 3.

I belive that they decided to stop giving them numerical titles, because both Tenchu2 and Fatal shadows were prequels. Fatal shadows is really Tenchu4 when you think about it, but until a name is given to the new game then it shall be refered to as Tenchu4!

I wonder how much blood you shall spill of Onikage's, and how many boss battles you shall have with him, in the new game? ...

Well the game is released in a month and the logo on the trailers says "Tenchu 4" so i guess its just me but I think its gonna be called tenchu 4.

... Is it me or is this thread a conversation about Onikage and his possible returns? I'm not flooding, i just wish to discuss the Tenchu series. Should i be punished for that? This is just a thread for those that know about previous Tenchu's and want to discuss Onikage, if someone wants to discuss Onikage they come here... they should not feel intimidated. They would not be on this website else would they?

I am starting to worry about Onikage's role in this game. If hasn't appeared in any trailers so far, I doubt he will play a large role in this game.

Maybe he will be introduced as a villain for parts 2 and 3 of this trilogy...

Did Tenrai himself ressurect Onikage?

This is worth thinking about. Tenrai ressurected Onikage, and Onikage serves him (to repay him for giving him life) but after repaying this debt, he plans on bringing back his old master.

In the end of WoH when Riki/Ayame re-kills Onikage, does that free him of Tenrai's influence? Perhaps that is why he instantly re-awakes with Mei-Oh's voice ringing in his ears?


As i said... it seems likely... perhaps it will be a cliff-hanger ending to Tenchu4?

Perhaps he was playing Tenrai all along and would have revived Mei-Oh regardless.

I think that he feigned his death when he realized that Tenrai was doomed so he ditched him and after the Tenrai events blew over he will revive Mei Oh and rise again!

Personally I hope in the new game Onikage will pull his head out of Mei Oh's ass and think for himself for a change.

He's sure to come back in a future Tenchu game, as you said he may return in 'Tenchu5' or 'Tenchu6'.

I think it is kool that Onikage joined Mei-Oh, after he died on board the fire-demon in Tenchu2, and has been trying to revive him since. Was that when Mei-Oh revived Onikage? And to place him under his control? It makes sense i suppose.

I had an image in my head of Mei-Oh battling with Tenrai. Tenrai seemed to hold a grudge or rivalry with Mei-Oh, and he wanted to steal his powers from the portal. I think they will go ahead into a supernatural battle of sorcery, it would make that game so epic and apocalyptic! That is what Tenchu needs!

THAT is when Onikage will turn his back on both Mei-Oh and Tenrai, and kick everyone's ass!

I like to think that Onikage had been serving Meh-Oh even before the events of Birth. I also think that his and Meh-Oh's origins are better left mysterious.

And as for the whole sorcerer apocalypse battle, I think the new tenchu is going for the more realistic approach (like Tenchu 2) and maybe that's why we haven't seen much of the zombie assassin in the game.

I think he might make a cameo appearance like he did in Birth where he will play a small roll but it will pay off in the end when Onikage makes his triumphant return!

Theres also another possible returning villain, Shigi from Tenchu Z. At the end of the game he stated that he would return and he's working for him.

Shigi works for Mei-Oh?

... He does need another reliable servant though...

And you really cant top a guy who wears a trench coat.

Especially when he wears it in feudal japan.

He just doesn't have the personality and cool level of Onikage(who doesn't need a trench coat or even a shirt to look awesome).

But in all seriousness I don't think there will be many villians returning but if anybody does its going to be Onikage(he's been in most of the games and is basically Rikimaru's arch nemesis).
