Forum Feedback & Discussion

Thought I'd create this thread so members could let me (and everyone else know) of things they think could improve the forum, or to complain about how certain items aren't making them happy, etc.

Thought this thread might be a good idea in light of the recent forum color change. So do you guys like the theme? I personally think it rocks and goes well with the tone of the game.

It fits the tone but it is waaay to hard to make out stuff.

Look at Loungin's themes. Keep the middle area (where the links to the threads are) close to the original color.

I think it looks spiffy.

Maybe it's just my computer settings, but I don't think anything's too hard to make out.

One thing I noticed though. Those cute little colored bats (that were supposed to replace the icons next to the thread) didn't show up. That's a shame. They were adorable.

I really don't like it.

Imo, it would look better with neo's default colors, and a batman themed background.

What Darknet said. Theme changes can be lots of fun, but usually being able to subtly create a color scheme that fits the game works better than a total overhaul.

re: Forum Feedback & Discussion

In the least defensive sounding way as possible:

-Why did no one comment with actual feedback in the h/f thread when I first brought it up?
-How is it at all hard to distinguish the text?
-@Miss Razz, the bat icons would only be added with JS and I'm not sure if Mishtram would be able to do that since Aether "copyrighted" (it was his/her idea) the code for that
-Those that are having trouble viewing anything, are you sitting in an utterly dark basement with a monitor with no brightness at all?

Sure, subtle themes (in the center of the header area, I made these as well) can look nice but they aren't as "cool" or "unique" for the forum.

And to end, a Super Mod could always come in and add the theme switcher JS and add the default forum css as an alternative (for those that don't like this theme).

edit » is this better? not subtle but meh ... at least the cookiecrumb bar looks nice XD

re: Forum Feedback & Discussion

That new theme looks *bleep*ing great, especially the bar at the top. But remember that the forum isn't just the PS3 version, as the link on the bar states. But seriously, a huge improvement that I think matches the feeling of the game much better.

Although might I make a quick suggestion? I took a look at your CSS, and did a search and replace on all FFFFFF color codes and turned them into 8C8C8C (but even after that a few things show up as white, you probably have to go in and manually add what you need to change those colors). It both looks and flows better with that small change. I hope you don't mind, I'm just trying to make it even better.

re: Forum Feedback & Discussion

I don't want to be unappreciative about the theme, but is it possible to have a drop down menu for this theme and Neo's default one? While I think it fits the tone of the game for some reason I just like the default theme atm unless someone else makes a theme that gives us more options. Or how about just a black backround theme with white text? Something loungin or Quierta is still failing to produce as I requested it and she said yea I'll make something like that. yet she goes off and adds shitty themes.

I have a PS3 so I took the "PS3 forum" source code. It would change depending on which platform you have selected for the forum.

Now we just need to get a S-mod to add the theme switcher thing and have this, the previous one, and default added

I don't mind =P. It's better than when people say make it a brownish color and don't suggest a specific one, I updated it and am curious to know whether that one is hard to read or not.

A theme itself cannot give you more options, it requires JS which forum mods cannot add themselves.

First, what browser do you use?
Second, would you want that on all forums? (easily possible with FireFox)
Third, do you want it pure black with white links + text? As in the thread list area is black or just the page background is black?
edit » if you want it pure black with white links + text, this should suffice. If you use FireFox, you can apply that to all forums (or just one) but it could mess with other pages such as my.neoforum and what not (I don't have the time to figure out all the Neo CSS atm).

re: Forum Feedback & Discussion

I'm well aware of that, which is why I was going to ask a super to see about adding a drop down menu thing.

Basically, I want a similar backround that loungin had which was The Dark Knight but without the backround photo. Still is the best theme loungin ever had. All the others are *bleep*ing eye sores.

I'm not going to use firefox just to change the color. I mean it's cool to do but some forums looks awesome the way it is or have their own theme.

The Jack Frost Loungin' theme is the only one I've ever seen that wasn't hard to read. Once you change them from the default colors (or close to it) it seems to get harder.
