A few questions

Hey guys, just bought this game so I've got a couple of questions.

First of all, how long is the story with nothing else included?

Also, after the game or story is complete, am I allowed to continue to lurk Arkham to find the rest of the goodies, is there a New Game+ keeping my progress, or do I simply have to do it all again?

If I'm running for the 1000/1000, is there anything specific I should keep note of (i.e., complete the game on hard)?

Thanks!

re: A few questions

I'd say its about 10hrs long, give or take.

Yeah, Arkham will be open to you and you can collect all the items. I don't think theres a New Game+, though.

Hard mode is manageable, you just need to learn to rely more on the enemy animations than the "spider sense" symbol to know if they're going to attack, since the symbol is removed in hard mode. The combat challenges may seem impossible, but with enough practice, its doable.

re: A few questions

Thanks for your replies. One more for the moment: Are there any collectibles etc that you only have one opportunity to find?

re: A few questions

Nope, you can still go back and get everything even after you complete the story. Kind of makes it less fun and more of a grind, though. I enjoyed grabbing the collectables as I played through the story, and since they all yield XP it helped me to upgrade everything faster.

re: A few questions

Thank you. On that note, if I replay the game to make collecting things more enjoyable, will the ones I found on my first playthrough still be found or do I start wholly again?

re: A few questions

You'd be starting all over again. Nothing carries over from one playthrough to the next.

re: A few questions

In which case I'd probably complete the game, do all the riddles etc while I'm there, and replay on Hard for that final story mode achievement. Would I be right in that thinking? Or is there somethin I'm missing?

Thanks again for your help, thoroughly enjoying the game so far. Just locked up 'Quinn.

re: A few questions

That's right. You'd want to get all of the riddles/collectibles done on a single playthrough, and then you could just go through the game again on Hard to get the achievement for that difficulty.

It's still good to get collectibles when you run into them though as they give you XP. Plus, you'll know where they are following your first playthrough. I never went out of my way to get them though on my "Hard" game. As soon as you start mastering freeflow combat, upgrades aren't too important.

I miss playing B:AA. Thank God I get my new 360 tomorrow.

re: A few questions

Seems decent, thanks for the advice. How far through the storyline would you guys say I am? (just locked up Harley Quinn.)

And yeah, I'm collecting everything I can whenever I see it. I'm sure there's quite a few things I've missed though, like the audio tapes and all of the chatter teeth and everything else.

I do really enjoy the combat, yup.

re: A few questions

A little less than 2/3, I'd say.
