Great work, but i think there're some missing players in this database and the attributions of some players are randomly assigned.(Yasuhito Endo is good at corner taking and crossing)Anyway, thanks for your hard work!

If you can read Japanese, you can go to http://soccer.yahoo.co.jp/jleague/,and know the playing styles of J.League players in Japan Wikipedia such as http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%81%A0%E8%97%A4%E4%BF%9D%E4%BB%81.

One more link to have the informationhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamba_Osaka.
But i think it is hard for few people to complete.Wireframebox failed to complete the database in fm08 due to no spare time. Only hope you can complete your desirable project.

re: [J-League Database] New Graphics update! J-League 1 Database completed! And J-League 1 Guide! |

Thats always the catch, is the making of everyone from scratch. Just getting the comp to play without crash dumps its tricky enough and by the time that you're talking comp and player histories and any amount of research into actually watching the players it starts to be a massive time drain.
I figure that I'm probably in for near 70+ hours of work time on the project just to get what you see now. So here's a question for next year's version...is it better to put more players in the database or is it better to have realistic ratings and complete player histories? I'm going with option two this year because I'm a completist like that but I could make a lot more players if I did what I've seen other people do...namely, just put in names, PAs, CAs, and leave everything else blank. ------------------- ![]()

i prefer the first option but if you dont have time you can do the first but make the famous players more realistic, you can check out for data and rosters in wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_national_football_team it would be great if you could make it again in fm 2009 or 2010,some missing players:Keisuke Honda and Yoshito Okubo, anyway i really enjoyed your hard work thank you!

I think player histories aren't necessary as they don't reflect player abilities in the game.
I suggest to put more players in it and edit the attributions of those famous players. For young players or the players which rarely appear, their attributions can be randomly assigned.

Thanks for the input while I was on "holiday".
I'm going to scrap the player histories for next year's version so that I can get more players in and I've already started working on the database (via spreadsheet obviously!) so that I can have it out earlier next season. I'm going to keep trying to scout everyone and put in realistic stats though so any playing style recommendations are welcome. ------------------- ![]()

Very nice stuff mate. Konami's just released their 2009 version of J League Winning Eleven 2009 Club Championship, which is a J-League-featured version of their popular Winning Eleven (known popularly as Pro Evolution Soccer worldwide) series, released only in Japan. Its stats are all highly accurate, and generally the Japanese versions of the series are much, much better than its English adaptations. I think that'd be a great source for player ratings and the like, so I'd recommend using it as a source.
Will be looking forward to your second update (personally, I like managing J2 clubs, used to love taking over Kyoto Sanga in the past) before giving it a try. I think FM 2010 should make J-League databases a heck of a lot easier, what with the competition creators and all, so no more of all this league swapping stuff. Can't wait to see what we can do with the new features.

Hey, using the Konami game is a good idea. Cheers for that. I just found a site that is really going to help.
I finished up my last version a couple of weeks ago...its still not as complete as I would like but once I heard about the new features for 2010 I decided to just wait until the new game came out rather than keep fighting this one. The new league swapping features should make everything so much easier, I'll probably have the first update done by the new year instead of fighting crash dumps for months at a time. Here is the link for my last version for this year. If anyone hasn't given it a go yet and wants to I highly recommend Albirex (Gilton is devastating) or JEF (great youth setup)...unless you want to just destroy everyone, then go with Urawa or Antlers. quote constantplanckYeah, I'd definitely agree that the next year's version is the one to get. And it's just a few months away too. Vissel Kobe are also a pretty good team, with two players returning from Europe: Gamba stalwart Tsuneyasu Miyamoto and former Mallorca, and Wolfsburg striker Yoshito Okubo. Their stadium is also quite the pretty one. EDIT: Just noticed your edit about a helpful site. Is it one related to JL-WE, or a general resource site?
