Hyundai A-League - Expanded league - Download now

Updated Hyundai A-League 2009/10

Updates:

All clubs have had playing rosters, staff, contract lengths, playing kits, injuries & suspensions, rivalries, squad numbers, player records updated, in amongst a lot of other things. Three new cups have been created, the FFA Cup, Qantas Trophy & Johnny Warren Shield.

- Created new clubs:
  • Gold Coast United
  • North Queensland Fury FC
  • Melbourne Heart
  • Western Sydney FC
* (Notes: Gold Coast United & North Queensland Fury are the two new teams that joined the Hyundai A-League this season. Melbourne Heart & Western Sydney are joining next season although the names may change.)

Created a second division in which 10 new fantasy sides have been created. This league is non playable but promotion to the Hyundai A-League commences after season two.

The new clubs:
  • Cairns Cyclones
  • Canberra United
  • Northern Thunder (Based in Darwin)
  • South Australia Stars (Based in Adelaide)
  • Southern Sharks FC (Based in Christchurch NZ)
  • Sunshine Coast FC
  • Tasmania United
  • Victoria United (Based in Geelong)
  • Western Wolves (Based in Perth)
  • Wollongong Wanderers

The Hyundai A-League histories have been updated and cup competitions created.

Competitions & Rules:

Hyundai A-League
  • The season now runs January - February
  • 7 subs named, maximum 3 used
  • Each squad is now allowed 6 foreign players but only 4 may be in the match day squad (note: for the Wellington Phoenix local players include Australians & New Zealanders)
  • There is no longer a salary cap
  • A-League clubs may now buy players from one another
  • There is no finals series, each side plays each other 3 times (total 33 games) with the ladder being the final standings
  • Promotion-relegation begins at the conclusion of season two, with the bottom placed team being relegated
  • Season One no A-League side is in the Asian Champions League, although qualification begins in Season Two.
  • There is a reserve league and under 18 league, every team is allowed entry except for Wellington Phonix (Note: As this is based on the Singaporean leagues Singapore U17's play in the youth league and Singapore U18's play in the reserve league)

Football Federation Australia Cup (FFA Cup)

Knockout style Cup involving teams from the Hyundai A-League and Hyundai B-League.

7 subs named, maximum 3 used

Format:
  • Preliminary Round: 16 teams, 1 match straight knockout, extra time & penalty shoot out if required.
  • Quarter Final: 8 teams, 2 legs, home & away, extra time & penalty shootout if required

  • Quarter final: 8 teams, 2 leg home & away knockout, extra time & penalty shootout if required
  • Semi final: 4 teams, 2 leg home & away knockout, extra time & penalty shootout if required
  • Third Place playoff & Final: 1 match, neutral venue, extra time & penalty shootout if required

Johnny Warren Shield

This is a one off pre season match similar to the Charity Shield in England. The Hyundai A-League winner plays against the FFA Cup winner in a winner takes all match.

Rules:
  • 90 Minutes
  • If teams are level then extra time is played
  • If teams are still level the match is decided in a penalty shootout.
  • 7 subs named, maximum 3 used
Season One Melbourne Victory play Adelaide United for the Johnny Warren Shield.

Who is Johnny Warren you may ask? He is an Australian football legend, more information can be found here: Johnny Warren Wiki

Players:

I have chosen not to edit player stats, the only changes made are creating players who are not already in the database. These players have been given reasonably low CA's as they are usually young or not well known players. I have set CA's, PA's, and personal details but the actual stats have been left at 0 - the game will create the individual talent stats.

Created players:

Name/Team/CA/PA/Any other info

Ufuk Talay (NQF) - 92/116
Shin In Sup (AU) - 95/122 - Common name - Shin
Joe Costa (AU) - 63/-6
Henrique (BR) - 100/118
Luke Pilkington (MV) - 49/-5
Jack Hingert (NQF) - 61/-6
Adama Traore (GCU) - 94/-7
Matthew Mayora (PG) - 83/-5 - Lacking d.o.b., height weight, preferred foot, place of birth etc
Kojiro Kaimoto (NQF) - 90/99
Golgol Mebrahtu (GCU) - 55/-7

There is also a full roster of newly created players for the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) - Many thanks to The_Chaser for the research into this!

Notes:

- Adrian Leijer shows as on loan, this will be fixed before db release
- If you choose to manage Gold Coast United and cannot win the league every season then I suggest you quit playing FM!! Gold Coast have millions, plus a sugar daddy...the only thing holding them back will be the foreign player ruling
- The first release of the database is an update of the A-League only, the next release in early September will include promotions and relegations plus transfers from overseas leagues, as well as a created fully playable New Zealand Football Championship (NZFC)

- I have spent hours creating this database so really hope you enjoy it, I would really appreciate you leaving a quick note here if you are downloading it so I can see interest levels. Also would not mind seeing your progress of games, plus I will welcome any feeback.

ENJOY!!

re: Hyundai A-League - Expanded league - Download now

Thanks mate, a few of the players are showing up with their 2nd nationality as their main as I loaded a small database to take the screenshots so those players were called up to those international teams, play it on a larger database and it will re appear back to normal. See Vargas has Chile and Jamieson is Scottish too

Ahh must be bed time, 3.10am

How do you want the logos and kits done? If you tell me that I could possibly do them for you. May take a bit of time tho.

What I meant was in what style do you want the logos and kits done in? eg: ss'09, ls'09, FmPt'10, etc, etc.
