Sorry to bother all you experienced players, but as a silver surfer,I am quickly losing it with the new game I just bought. I played Championship Manager years ago and have only just realised that FM is from the same team.
I am using a laptop Acer Aspire 9300 with Vista installed. The game loaded ok and I downloaded the latest patch.
I can play the game with no problems except one!!....after a while (sometimes an hour, sometimes less) the computer just dies. Obviously I lose whatever I havent saved (I do save regularly but if in the middle of a match cant). I am not able to say what I have been doing when it crashes, because it can be at different stages of the game.

The game did the same crashing even before I downloaded the patch.

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Thanks

Sounds like your computer can't cope, do you play in 3D mode? if so, try it in basic 2d settings... that's all I can think of

you have a top end laptop so it should be able to cope, i think maybe you put your laptop somewhere where the airholes are covered up so it overheats and it is messing your ram up, never cover your wholes up mate, just turn it of on wall when it is fully charged but i strong advise you that if it crashes or goes of again, just buy a new ram.

Thanks for your reply. I think that you could be correct as it still closes down during a game, and I have noticed that the laptop is very warm at the time. Perhaps I need to clean the heatsink on the CPU and add some new paste. I will try this.
Do you have any suggestions where I can get some tips re training? As a relative newcomer (silver) I havent been able to sort out how to change individual players training on the game.
