First season Sevilla, achievements and where to improve... |
|
This is my first season with Sevilla, amazingly won the treble, with much thanks to Palop and Fazio being immense all season!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Any ideas where to build the squad, I'm thinking a new LB and possibly a young CM...

I'm on the 9.30 patch (the standard one the game downloads) and I was shocked... I was 8points clear at christmas and hadn't lost, and only drawn to Real, and was thinking a drop in for would come, and it never did! I only lost to Athletic Madrid and I think my other draw was Real again! Everyone just kept beating each other.
I sold Kanoute and Fabiano immediately to lower the wage budget, thought that Fabiano was an OK price and I had VL lined up to step into his place so went for it. I was thinking guilherme from almeria after they got relegated, I may be signing Toldo on a free and was going to buy Akinfeev the at the start of the next season, particularly as Palop was immense this year (won Goalkeeper of the Year) with 53apps, 26 conceded and 31clean sheets! I don't think I am going to have a huge budget for this upcoming season with only 20mill in the bank...

Finally a sevilla thread!!
Mate if that was your first season, congrats! I think you had an epic first season, now to back it up You should get rid of Konko and Chevanton, that'll decrease your wage budget and should hopefully give you an extra 5-10mil. Reckon you could do SS of Kerrison, Fazio & Feghouli? Search through France, Spain or Netherlands for a LB; can't give you names as I can't play my fm09 game. Yeah good idead on getting Akinfeev, Palop is immense but I can't see him keeping it up for too much longer. Search through Brazil as well; if you have non-EU spots (when season starts, search for non-contracted regens Good job mate!!

Cheer mate. I have no expectations to emulate my first season, certainly not in Champions League! VL took a while to find his feet but started banging them in at the end of the season when it mattered, and Vukcevic is just a complete god.
Fazio ![]() Feghouli ![]() Keirrison ![]() I've almost done the summer transfer window now (1day remaining) I sold Konko, but kept Chevanton as I sold Pandev for 17.75mill to Inter. Ended up buying Akinfeev for 16.75mill and got Guilherme as a LB, and my other signing was Balotelli for a mere 10mill! I saw him residing in the Inter under 20s and put in a bid that I thought would be rejected and they accepted it straight away! Insane. I have also got Kroos coming at the end of the season and he will replace Beckham next year... Other sales were small time menial players: ![]() I also have bids in for Martin Galvan and I am trying to grab Sakho on last day of the season! (Come to me -10 players

Fazio stats are a lot higher than what I thought they would be, you using tugs training or something similar?
Yeah your buys look good, you've replaced well and also bought those extra 'back ups' you do use at least two of them throughout the season Saw your beckham purchase...how did he go for you? Personally I wouldnt have bothered with him unless he was free. Feghouli looks like an interesting purchase. SS of team and transfers when you think you're done. Vukcevic = complete midfield player

don't know mate, question is do you need him and is it worth spending 27mil on a player that might or might not be needed?
He is a good player so no one would certainly blame you if you got him. I say get him and deal with the angry players later

I think 27M is ott. Get N'Koulou. A.C have offered me 25M for him in 2012. Sakho signed for Atletico for 14M and hasn't played yet. Good luck mate.

OK, a proper reply to the earlier post...
Fazio is just immense, he hasn't actually improved from that, and I just use my own training schedules. I also just reinvested in backroom staff so all my training areas have 6/7stars for coaching so hopefully may see some further improvement (I have Zidane and Thuram lolz). Becks was a great buy for 3mill, he's now worth 3.7mill and first game of the season he banged in a classic freekick, worth every penny, just had a news feed saying he's been called up for England after 18months of being absent! Here is my squad after summer transfers, plus VL and Keirrison who got cut off and I CBA with two ss's! ![]() I decided not to get Sakho, as I didn't particularly need him, and buying him would reduce my bank balance to about 5mill, I can always upset him, make him want to leave and then get him much cheaper towards the end of his contract So my signings remain unchanged (see previous post for transfer history) and I also have Kroos coming at the end of the season and Galvan the season after when he is 18.

amazing.
this is the second time i had saw a team win the league by over 100 points (3rd if i count my own experience). I won the league exactly 100pts with man city 3rd season but i had about 10 times more depth in my squad than you. I had players like Hamsik ,Demichelis, Guardado , Aguero , (did have vagner love too ), gamberini (and he actually improved alot by 3rd season) , lucho gonzales , flamini and so on.I had at least 2 world class player in every position.Micah Richards attributes skyrocketed by the month and he was already probably better than sergio ramos at that time.

Sounds like a good team you have.
I went for Sevilla because normally my first season entails making a rock solid defence, but this team already has that so I got the opportunity to make a new midfield and strike force which worked very well in the end Aided by the fact Barca and Real finished nowhere near me, Villarreal were my only challengers and then they lost quite a few games out of the last 10, whereas I kept winning
