whell the problem is that i try to play halo in my pc with the voodoo but ti says that the voodoo have known issues

No offense, but the Voodoo 5 is a bit of a dino. As such, it certainly does not support DX9. Bad luck. Double bad luck is that Halo requires shitloads of computer to run even broadly comparable to an Xbox. It's a very poor conversion in my opinion.

You'll need at least a Radeon 9600Pro/XT to get Halo up to Xbox standards. Just buy an Xbox mate!

ati has a poor naming scheme just like nvidia. their 9xxx series of cards doesnt necessarily denote hardware dx9 support. only the 9500 and up supports DX9 in hardware. if you are hard set on an ATI card I would not look below a 9600 Pro at this time as the 9200 (and definitely the 9000) are pretty subpar for gaming.

Yes, Voodoo5 5500 runs perfectly under directx9 designed games, you just need to install the directx9a or b, then get some new drivers from www.voodoofiles.com, look for the 3rd party drivers, if you use windowsXP get the amigamerlin 3.0, if uses win 98 get the "3dhq vs-w9x-1.09 beta 10" driver, or "voodooliser 1.05.0_win9x_Me", the amigamerlin drivers for win98 isn't good, they are slow and the certain games may crash, but for winXP they are realy the best.

I have a voodoo 4 4500 and I play many games that need directx9.
obs: if with this drivers you still can't play this game I recomend you to use a program called 3Danalyse, that emulates various directx8.1 and 9 properties.

off course, i have one, working fine in DX9c, with amigamerlin drivers

my geforcee4 mx420 can run halo fine at 800x600 everythin medium high

a radeon 9000 will work fine

Um....Id just like to say that ATI Radeon 9000 cards are certainly not out of date. They are only "out of date" if your a shooter player. Shooters force constant ugrading usually, but luckily I dont like them too much. (Besides Jedi Knight Outcast/Academy)

While it is of course possible to have DX9 installed on a system with a Voodoo card, that doesn't mean the Voodoo is actually a DX9 card, or that it has any DX9 features.

Voodoo 5 only plays games that are designed for directx 8.0 and lower. So yes you can play Half-Life 2 with it.

Note that the glide api though is not supported or developed for anymore. They make nice memorabilia though, you can't find voodoos anymore... at least not the 5's or the 5 with the quad VSA100 chips

What is the matter with you people? The voodoo 5 card was designed and built years ago! ( around the mid 90's and up) You "We" should be so lucky as to have a card so far advanced as the Vodoo 5 series.
PS: Do you remember when "3DFX" Went out of business? They even mentioned it in the press.

I just want the drivers fot the Voodoo 5/5000 video card. Is this now impossible? Can we work out a trade that is fair to both parties?
