Google Earth on Voodoo5

Anyone know how to get Google Earth running on Voodoo5 with Windows 2000? I tried and it looks and runs fine, but when I zoom in closer, it starts a "kaleidoscope effect". Thanks.

I don' t what version of directx google earth takes... but if it's 8.1 or later you're screwed.

But from my use of the program you shouldn't be having artifacts. Try lowering your ambient temperatures or leaving your case open. Heat is a big issue for the VSA100 chips.

DirectX 8.1 or OpenGL. OpenGL is even worse!

i would highly suggest buying a new videocard. Any Geforce4mx will do, you probably can pick one up for about 20 bucks. It will greatly improve your speeds.

You are seriously due for an upgrade. If you had a problem with a glide supported game I wouldn't be so critical, but as much as I like my Voodoo 5500, it no longer flies for anything.

This isn't my main rig. I have one with a Radeon 9800pro. The Voodoo5 is in a secondary which I may eventually give away.

re: Google Earth on Voodoo5

yeah I know the GeForce4mx is basically a rewrapped GeForce 2 GTS but still, since it actually has driver support it runs faster than the Voodoo in several applications.

And yes, it is cool, I collect voodoos.

anyways, why give that legacy system away? It's 'basically' worthless right?
