Exams

So, how many of you have got some exams coming up? They could be Uni related, or school related. Are you going to revise for them? How much? What are the exams you have?

So many questions.

Personally I have an economics and statistics exam coming up which I need to work very hard for as they are final A-Levels. I plan to start revision in half an hour (but probably won't), so if I am online, tell me to get off, lol.

I am doing all my retakes in June which puts a bit more pressure on but if I stay focused I should get the grades I need to get into Uni. (hopefully Loughborough or Surrey)

So, your fine selves?

re: Exams

I don't have my first proper exams until the Summer as I'm in year 10. It's an ideas about science exam and we did a couple of practice papers today which were piss easy. They're mostly fill in the gaps and there was even a crossword question!

re: Exams

In Ireland, we do the Junior Cert in third year which I think is the equivilant to GCSE's in Britain. I'm doing that this summer, and I have mocks next months. Going to study hard, because I want to do well. I have exams in all of my 10 subjects - English, Irish, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, Business Studies, Religion () and CSPE. In sixth year, we then do the Leaving Cert, and you do 7 subjects. You have to do English, Irish and Maths, the rest you can choose from. I do music outside of school, so I'll sit that as an extra subject (you get marked on your best 6). An A1 = 100 points, A2 = 90 and so on. But for this year, it's just A, B, C etc and the exams don't really mean anything (unless you drop out of school that is)

Exams

I have a second year university exam for Ameican Politics coming up on the 21st of January. I'll start studying for it in a week or so i'd think, i'm not really that fussed. American politics isn't that hard anyways.

French politics this semester though, should be fun.

re: Exams

As I'm in year 12, I've got exams in January and June.

I happen to have a maths exam tomorrow morning, which is my "Pure Core 1" exam. I'm getting quite worried about it now, I REALLY want an A, and I don't want to resit it.
However, I can't get into revision at all so I might be winging it on the day.

I also then have a "Further Pure 1" maths exam next thursday, which I almost definately will be resitting. I don't know ANY of it.

re: Exams

I didn't do too well in pure core 1 so I have to resit that. I did better in c2, actually.

I'm starting my mocks tommorow, I've got ICT, Geography and Business Studies which is a bit of a pisstake. Should do OK hoping for B's/A's, bit off-topic but I've just got an A* for my ICT coursework, feels good man.

Lie. Well in my school anyway, I did rubbish in GCSE mocks. I did better in the real thing lol, I think I ended up with 4 A's, 7 B's and a C.

Are you in GCSE's?
If so, then no offence, but it's almost impossible not to get an A* in I.T. Well that was the case in our school.

You do a test in ICT? Usually its all based on coursework for ICT and no test, also usually you get either pass, distinction or merit.

re: Exams

For ICT it was 60% coursework and 40% exam based in GCSE. Now I do it A-Level we have 5 pieces of coursework and 1 exam to do over the course of 2 years.

They fkin better well not be! I did my mocks in early December... & I did awful tbh. But I didn't revise at all so I know how much I need to work to get good grades for the actual GCSE's.
When are people gonna start revising if they have GCSE's? I need to know lol.

I got an A* in GCSE IT.

I have 2 exams this month. I have my Maths core 3 exam next Thursday, and an Economics AS exam next Friday. I really don't care about the Economics exam as it makes no difference to whether or not I get into uni. I need an A in Maths though as the courses I want to do are all Maths based. I've not done much revision at all so far but I've started doing some today so hopefully I'll be ready by next week.
