Quake I is not compatible with WinXP |
|
Is there a patch or some sort of configuration that will enable Quake I to run on WinXP?
Thanks in advance. | |

As a matter of fact there is, you can enable it to run in windows 85 compatibility mode OR just run the Winquake.exe and it should do fine for you

It can run on XP,all you need to do is find a source port for it. I would recommend EZQuake but if you just want to play as is, then download WinQuake and if you want to add OpenGL rendering, then download GLQuake, then it should run fine on XP.

I only use QuakeWorld nowadays. QuakeWorld runs fine on XP for me. I very seldom have any problems. So seldom, as a matter of fact, that I don't remember the last problem I had with it!
