Help i have two batteries but it wont let me use one and the gate wont open

Hi, My son and I are playing zubos and we have reached the junkyard too. The problem we have is that when we walk to the East it takes us right back to the west and vice versa. It is very annoying. I didn't see My son reach this planet and I know he has one battery that is blue. We can't get anywhere and there are no more batteries. Help please..

I'm not sure if you noticed, but one of the batteries is sitting in a spot right next to where the 2 batteries are supposed to go. It almost looks as though there should be 3 batteries, but the first one just needs to go in one of the 2 slots.
