I was playing another RPG game, and couldn't find the time to play this game. I'm currently playing both Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates and Echoes of Time.

Hey im playing ring of fates too.

Just beat the creepy guy with the red eyes at the temple.
so far its been way too easy and I've been a little disapointed with the number of weapons and armour. It seems a pretty basic upgrade system that doesn't leave much or any room for personalisation without lowering the stats of your characters, which is a shame. Crystal Chronicles on the gamecube was a master piece. I hope when my Echoes of time arrives sometime soon it is better.

Saying that, I am really enjoying ring of fates, but not in the same hardcore rpg way i did the game cube version. I just don't get any fun out of leveling up on this one which is sad.

lady luck increase the chances of rare items from the enemies that you defeat.

Finished ring of fates about an hour or so ago.
Might replay it again I want the pirate costume! XD

I need to know where to get the Old Sword. I've got the Ragnorak Scroll and I have all the ingredients except the Old Sword. I think you get it from the Crab boss in River Belle but on which mode? I'm playing hard, my team's average level is about 92/93 but when I fight the crab I get owned in 10 seconds.

Also I thought you got the Ragnorak Scroll from Galdes, I got it from a mimic in River Belle.

(There's river belle on echoes of time?!!?!)

Well on ring of fates, yes I got mine from the crab boss first time i killed him. The drop rate is apparently around 30% and yeah it was on hardmode.

To be honest though the weapon is seriously over rated.

You'd be better off with Excalibur. Mine has 743 attack, ATK boost 3, HP Regen 3 and SP Regen 3. Raganrok only has 680 attack, DEF Boost 2 and SP Absorb Atk. 2.

Excalibur owns it outright. I tried several times to get a Raganrok that good but failed each and every time. EXCALIBUR FTW.

Siriously there is no stopping me.
The crab boss becomes a walk in the park!

And btw im only level 78!

Just keep behind crabby, keep your health at full at all times, cast barrier all the time and keep only one other party member alive, just in case you do die, ignore the rest and he will be no problem.

Also... How do you get Excalibur?

i think the old sword is dropped by the crab in normal mode but still, it is rare..

btw night, i think u r talking about ring of fates.. the equipment system in eot is different u know..

and one more thing, imo, regen dont really help u in battle.. it heals just a bit and very slow.. life stealing is way better..

i got excalibur scroll from mimic near save point at gate, hard mode.

I've beat Echoes of time on normal but never noticed river belle???
Thats why I assumed ring of fates.

Anyway, agreed with the life stealing for dungeons, but there's plenty of times i've had with bosses where its when I'm actually attacking that is when I get attacked myself, its usually then when you're at your most vulnerable as chain attacks can prevent you from jumping or moving out of the way, so the life steal is wasted absorbing that damage so I end up having to use cure spells anyway. so thats why i prefer regen, you can spend as much time as you want running around dodging the boss attacks and your health is all the time increasing. basically, if you are patient enough, you are invincible.

I take it crab boss must appear after you complete the game and select continue? because i just did Start+ immediately after.

and I got excalibur from that sunken tower place where Al used to work from a chest.

aww.. i dont mean to be sarcastic.. lol..

by mentioning Al, you must be talking about RoF? because i just think that chaolight is talking about excalibur from EoT..

u should play the games again in hard mode (both RoF and EoT), becoz new and better equipment are only avalilable in that mode (don forget very hard, too)

in RoF, maybe u should combine regen and life stealing.. i actually do this myself.. fufufu..
