At next week's Tokyo Game Show, Bandai will distribute a special .hack promotion DVD. called .hack//welcome to the world. The DVD-Video disc will contain footage from the anime .hack//SIGN as well as the four parts of the PlayStation 2 RPG. Infection Expansion, the first volume of .hack has sold 180,000 copies in Japan since its June release. The second volume, dubbed Malignant Mutation will be available in Japan one day prior to Tokyo Game Show.

If only I was going. The TGS will be on my birthday. Oh it is not fair.

but anyway, despite our misfortune, this game is one to truly make sure you check out. there is nothing out there that even resembles .hack. can't wait.

As to this DVD I may get it but it depends on the price.

There will be a 30 or 45 minute OVA DVD that will come with your purchase of .Hack;so that's great news for all of us anime fans.

I've seen the first, um, around 16 episodes of .hack//sign. My friend bought it at animagic 2002. It was pretty cool, but a little confusing. It didn't really explain anything in the beginning.

The game and anime DVDs are going to come out at the same time in the US. That's why there's been such a long delay on .hack's release: They're running behind schedule with the anime.

the games are coming out in like 3 months of eachother right? heh thats sooooo cool having all 4 of them coming out within a year...

Why would the quality suffer? The games aren't being developed at the moment, as I'm sure you know. They have to do very little before they're ready for a US release. It'll be fine. If the games suck, then they would have sucked given 5 years to be produced.
