i dont know what the problem is what ever i feed it it turns into a noble grunty nothing else so how do you make different ones?

You can make an Iron Grunty and a Poison Grunty as well.

I don't remember the food combos needed to make them, so just look it up on a faq. They should have a Grunty raising faq for every .hack game on Gamefaqs.

A grunty will ALWAYS try to guide you into making it a Noble Grunty, so if you listen to what it "wants," then that's what you'll always get.

Iron Grunty:
4 Piney Apple
3 Snakey Cactus
12 Golden Egg

Poison Grunty:
4 Piney Apples
3 Snakey Cactus
1 Invisible Egg
11 Golden Eggs

what you talking about? every time I give it what it wants I always get the iron grunty. it when I give him nothing that he want that I end up with a noble.

I think Noble Grunty is the default. I'll bet if the Intelligence, Odor, and the various other things are at certain levels you get certain grunties. As for giving it everything it wants, I gave it everything it wanted and mine became an Iron Grunty.

Hah! I was right! I looked it up and I guess here's the guide:
Noble Grunty: Default, only need 30 size points
Poision Grunty: 30 size points, 0 to 20 in body odor, -5 to 15 in rebel, 10 to 30 in brutality, 5 to 25 in intelligence, -5 to 15 in purity
Iron Grunty: 30 size points, 3 to 17 in body odor, -2 to 12 in rebel, 13 to 27 in brutality, 8 to 22 in intelligence, -2 to 12 in purity

It tells you what foods do what, so that's how you get the 3 grunty types.

It's random, really. When I was in the Sigma server, one of the grunties guided me into making an Aqua grunty pretty easily.
But there is no specific way to make a Noble Grunty, really. Just give it whatever random crap, and you'll get one. It doesn't matter what you do.

I think the default grunty is whatever grunty will lead you to the dungeon. If you press [triangle] while riding them, each will lead you to a different thing. Noble Grunty leads you to the nearest grunty food, Iron Grunty leads you to the dungeon if I remember correctly, and Poison Grunty leads you to magic portals. I've gotten 5 Iron Grunties, 1 Noble Grunty (I guided it myself) and never gotten an Poison Grunty in my .hack//QUARANTINE game.

Either that or it depends on what food you give the Grunty first. So that's my theory of the day.

Ok give you a little hint the kind of grunty youy get depends souly on the levels of everything. if you buy an official guide for any of the four games it has it what the levels have to be listaed and what each food does.

Levels?? Your level doesn't have anything to do with Grunty raising at all!

What in hell would your level have to do with anything? That's completely wrong, in Omega server when I was at level 73 I raised a Noble Grunty, Woody Grunty, and Rocker Grunty all without leveling up once. Level has nothing to do with it at all.

You can make any grunty whenever you want!

I think he meant when you're at a certain level it guides you to a certain kind of grunty. But even still, that has nothing to do with it at all.

Wether or not it guides you, that's luck right there.

You know, it may have something to do with your level, regarding which one it guides you to. I doubt it, but that would explain why I can't for the life of me get anything but a Bony Grunty(or the Noble Grunty I specifically went for that one time). That and Aqua Grunty in Sigma Server. If anyone could give me a formula for the other grunties in Lambda and Sigma server that would be awesome. Preferably with as few Golden Eggs as possible.

Lambda: Grunty 1- 5 Grunt Mints, 5 La Pumpkins, 5 Mandragoras, 4 White
Cherries, 2 Oh No Melons and 10 Golden Eggs
Grunty 2- 4 Cordyceps, 1 Mandragora, 2 Piney Apple, 1 Snaky Cactus,
and as many Golden Eggs needed

Sigma: Grunty 1- 11 Golden Eggs, 5 Invisble Eggs, 6 Cordyceps, 3 La Pumpkin

As to what you get... I'll leave that a surprise.
