 Unemployment Challenge - Season 2 2009 Brazilian 2nd Division ...my team Well, after my successful promotion, I didn't think my squad was too far away from being capable of surviving in the higher division. My defence was weak though and I needed a goalscorer desperately. I had £2k to spend and after releasing a load of players, had a little bit to play with for wages. My club was 100k in debt though, so I'd have to be careful. ...the transfers I immediately looked at the problem defensive area of the team. While Matheus Lopes was backup for my current CB's, Lucas Piasentin was going straight into the first team. My new scout had done a good job in spotting him. He also recommended striker Fabio, who I snapped up on a free. I then brought Rodrgio Paulista in on loan as well. He was small, but incredibly quick and would add pace to my front line. Left winger Matias Meir was one for the future, as was Escobar. I was impressed by 20 year old Beto, a midfielder with solid passing and an eye for a long shot. Amorim was a 32 year old defensive midfielder with excellent technical ability, and finally Thiago Almeida made me a popular man with the fans, who expected big things from him. I sold some dead wood, and was pleased to get £10k for unwanted youngster Bruno Costa.  ...the Rio State Championship This was my first time in the Rio State Championship, which runs before the proper Brazilian season. It is a chance for the minnows to play the bigger clubs and get some revenue. I just wanted a good showing from my team.  We were very good, we finished top of the teams not in the First Division, although we didn't cause many upsets against the big boys. Still, a good warm up and our high finished delighted the board and enabled us to qualify for the Brazilian Cup next season. I'm not sure how, because the rules are completely mental. ...the league Well, I needed to stay up to cement my national reputation. I lost my first game, but a 2-0 win over struggling Barueri and a closely fought 1-1 away draw was followed by my performance of the season. A stunning 4-0 victory over the eventually relegated America was a great boost to confidence. We continued to grind out results, and even rose to as high as 6th in the league. Once again my keeper, Vinicius and the new look defence were keeping me in games, and a run of 4 consecutive 1-0 victories pushed me up the league. However, my lack of goals let me down. My top scorer got less than 10 league goals, and that cost us.  A great season nevertheless for a team predicted to finish 19th. The higher gate reciepts put the balance £100k in the black, so things were looking up. ...my squad  As you can see, goals were the problem. A terrible injury crisis meant I never really got a settled team, but everybody did their job when asked. My best players were: Vinicius - He made the step up in divisions easily, pulling off several top saves, including 3 out of 4 penalties in the last 5 games. He is now coveted by bigger clubs and I face a battle to keep him on the books. Rogerio Rios - For the second season in a row, he was the pick of my players. He was immense at right back, bombing forward and creating chances. He filled in all over the pitch and his value has shot right up. Mancuso - Was an ever present in midfield, and relished a more advanced role. He scored very good goals and always seemed involved in the build up to others. ------------------- *Insert Sig Here*

Thanks, I'm really loving this game but I don't want to do a SOMS because it slows it down, so expect more of those as I make my way to one of the bigger clubs in Europe!

 OLD FIRM INVITED INTO CHAMPIONSHIP!!   A shock announcement has been made today from the FA Headquarters that a proposal has been put forward for Celtic and Rangers to join the English Championship in place of 2 teams. The FA say that Preston,Southampton and Reading have put themselves forward to take the place of the Old Firm in Scotland. The FA also confirmed that UEFA would allow this move to take place. The only things which are believed to be blocking the move are which teams to replace the Old Firm with and the SFA allowing the giants to leave What do you think of this to a start for an SOMS and is there anything which i could add ? ------------------- Celtic,Celtic

 Hi. I'm Nick Garlick. I'm manager of Rushden & Diamonds Football Club, and have been for the past 3 and a half seasons. This is my first job in football management, and I owe plenty to the chairman Keith Cousins, who took me on and has stuck with me in my three years. This was my last chance to get something out of life, having failed to achieve anything else so far. In my time with Rushden, I've had quite a bit of success, and I will now let you all know how it all unfolded... Is that an good start to my SOMS? Lads, a bit of advice. I'm rubbish at photoshop and came up with this(as Zlatan plays for me). Is it terrible or should I use it as one of my images ? I just want the pictures in my SOMS to look realistic.
